I've never done that. I don't end a relationship until it's obvious that the problems are too serious to overcome and that we don't belong together. If it's gotten to that then the desire is gone and I wouldn't want to have sex with her. If she broke up with me and I wanted to continue the relationship, I'd probably be open to it but only if I thought she was wanting to reconcile and resume the relationship.
In my opinion, if you're both still working on making the relationship work, then having sex is good and can be helpful, but once you've broken up I think it should be over. I think that continuing to have sex just complicates the situation and makes it more difficult to heal and move on.

I would say its pretty common. For one thing you know the person and feel at ease with them and their quirks. I mean you know if they enjoy oral or anal and you should know their favorite position. Also you should trust them to know if there are any disease issues. Its kind of like a friends with benefits situation.
I have no idea how common it is but I would never do that. Having sex, in my opinion, is not the way to "get over someone completely." It's your life and your decision but I don't think it's helpful to do that when you're trying to move on from someone.

Nothing matters and morality is subjective. If I feel it's okay, it must be okay, even if it harms the wellbeing of society overall. That's the mentality these people have.
