Actually the missionary position would be my #1 favourite because it's perfect for slower more romantic sexual lovemaking.

While it's a position I enjoy, it's not a Top 5 for me - but I have different priorities than some other guys do.

Anyway, here are reasons why guys will prefer it (some of them being reasons I like it as well, and some not):

It's a dominant position for the guy, and submissive for the girl.
It's great for ass men.
It's great for anal sex.
It's great for spanking and hair-pulling.
Some guys feel that they can thrust harder or faster in this position than others (not everyone agrees, though).
It accentuates a narrow waist and wider hips.

There are a couple of reasons for that. The most common and logic is that it allows for a deeper penetration, thus increasing pleasure.
Another reason is how easy is that posture to maintain, since you have both your legs and your partner's back to support you.

Several reasons. The “feel” of the vagina is different from say, missionary. I like the different feeling as a change up. At times, it feels tighter to me. Also, the thrusting is different and I can pound more as opposed to the difficulty in another position. I haven’t come across a woman who says this angle is bad for her cervix (but there could be some out there). By far my favorite position. I can go hard without getting tired for a long time doggy.
