Does Pumpkin "Really" Turn Guys On?

Question

So this was originally going to be a question about pumpkin cream cheese and if you'd try? But when looking up images, it popped up that pumpkin turns guys on... Never heard that one before, so just had to ask... Is it true or false?

I'm gonna go ahead and call BULLSHIT on this.

When you have a mix of lavender and pumpkin, and it turns guys on, the secret is: the pumpkin doesn't mean shit, it's the damn LAVENDER that is triggering the guys. Whoever did this study was an idiot.

It reminds me of a job I had when I was 20 or so - I was waiting tables in a college town, and it was summer, and we had a drought, and people weren't watering their lawns. And a woman where I worked had mentioned that her washing machine was leaking, and so she moved it to her front porch so the leak wouldn't ruin the floor in the house, and as a result, the washing machine just drained into the lawn. She said "I don't know what they put in laundry detergent, but the lawn sure loves it."

I just glared at her for a second, and she says "what?" So I said, "don't you realize what's so great about the laundry detergent that's turning your lawn green?" She says, "no, what?" "It's the WATER that you're diluting it with 1000:1! The lawn doesn't care about the detergent - it needs the WATER!"

Sometimes people completely miss the obvious.

That seems unlikely. Pumpkin is a globally-recognized medicinal-herb, and many sources (some more/less credible than others) cite its uses:  Even very reputable sources mention pumpkin: But none of them seem to attribute it male-aphrodisiac effects, except this: Personally, though, I don't know how reputable this source is. Personally, I've taken pumpkin-spiced foods a good number of times, but don't ever recall experiencing the mentioned effects. Just a few minutes ago (okay, 'seconds' now 😉), I had a bite of a pumpkin chocolate-chip cookie. No effect of the sort.

just yesterday I was at the store with my brother and passed by the candle section. Which of course pumpkin is in season for the holidays. That I smelled the candle 🤢 and didn’t like the scent. And asked my brother to smell it too, he didn’t like it either. That I even commented saying: “I can’t believe people like this smell.” Which was in a reference to a sex article I read about people liking pumpkin scent during sex. Yuck. But I guess it’s better than your typical 🧈 butteryfishbroth stench.

I’m a girl and I’ve been craving pumpkin cookies for 3-4 weeks now and I think it’s because fall is approaching and I have a tradition of eating pumpkin spice lattes in the winter time from Starbucks - maybe Starbucks already knew it was an aphrodisiac

That is something I have never heard before. I also find it bizarre, from a biochemical standpoint, why you'd get a sexual reaction from the fragrances of two plants that grow in different hemispheres on completely separate continents.

I've also never observed this effect firsthand; though to be fair, I mainly encounter the smell of pumpkin in pie form, and my opinion on Thanksgiving is that if you can still think about sex, you haven't eaten enough.

Sounds like lies, but I can't speak for all males.
I know that I myself find the smell of Pumpkin to be repulsive, I actually avoid smelling it but do enjoy things like pumpkin lattes and pumpkin pie.

I remember every time I carved a pumpkin on Halloween I absolutely hated the smell but loved making the designs enough to do it.

As far as I know, my other friends dislike the smell, but I don't know every guy :D

As for the Lavender, it isn't a turn on, but I certainly love the smell, it makes me feel calm and feels homely :)

Nope. Pumpkins are not Aphrodisiac food. The Lavender oil however can be of help but independently does not do much.

I've heard the lavender thing before and it's well documented that vanilla can cause permanent erections but pumpkins new to me. I'll definitely be putting one by the door just in case

I remember when talking about pheromones when I searched them up (this goes into a mix of natural scent to sexually attract a partner, as well as arousal of both sexes) that while a guy can get attracted from a person's natural scent, they can also get a boner from the smell of lavender and pumpkin pie. Most likely it is a random boner and not finding the smell sexually arousing. I think you guys should definitely look up pheromones though, they're pretty neat hormones that are in our body.

Hah. I never noticed that effect on me. When I smell pumpkin baking I just get hungry. If it works as they say, someone should create a pumpkin and lavender scented women's perfume. LOL
Sometimes guys affectionately call their partners Pumpkin because women have all kinds of nice round stuff. But I've never met a woman who smelled like pumpkin. 🤔

I've never heard that one before. The smell of pumpkin just reminds me of Halloween and Thanksgiving. I've never heard of pumpkin cream cheese, either. It doesn't sound good, to me.
As for lavender, which was also mentioned in the text image in the question, it totally grosses me out. It's way too pungent.
On a side note, I wish I knew the name of a perfume that a girl I once dated used to wear. It would turn me into an animal when she wore it. I'd feel like my frontal lobes had been removed!

If a woman is dressed in some kind of hot pumpkin costume for Halloween, then yeah... pumpkins can be a turn on. Other than that, I don't think so
