Technically, no. That's because, by strict definition, "Missionary" means the woman is lying on her back, with her knees up and bent and her feet flat on the bed.

I find that the angles here usually aren't ideal - her hips aren't rotated back enough and the angle of the vagina works against the angle of the guy's thrusting. But when you start modifying this position by having her pull her knees back further, this suddenly becomes a fantastic range of positions.

This is just a few of the many "knees back" Missionary variations - there's at least a dozen.

The obvious advantages of Missionary, and particularly the variations, are:

you can see each other's faces, and look into each other's eyes.
the woman's entire body can be seen, and this is great for guys.
