Is it a normal thing for a doctor to make u get naked when they doing a check up?

Superb Opinion

  • It depends on what the appointment is for and what kind of doctor it is.

A doctor in one of my dad's office buildings, who was a Chiropractor, was telling young girls to undress and get in those medical robes that are open in the back and started doing gynecological exams on them.

Needless to say my dad had a vacancy after one of them told her mother about it

... there was one less vacancy at the local prison though.

  • No, not really. It all goes back too a time when doctors were more concerned about a patient's health and safety, than they were about satisfying silly social conventions too make big bucks in commercial pseudoscience medical quackery, or modern medicine, so help us all, the way they are today. No, trying too save your life from potentially deadly disease and cancer is not the accepted norm today, so they typically won't try doing that sort of thing anymore. Those that do commit the cardinal sin of telling you too strip naked and proceed too conducting an extremely thourough, highly invasive physical examination of everything that makes you, you, while asking you personal questions that turns your face crimsom red, are financially challenged, high risk lian cases with bad credit and healthy, embarrassed patients who don't die young.

    • When I had an obstruction in my right kidney 15 years ago, my doctor explained the reasons why she had too ask me too remove my underwear and submit too the humiliation of an invasive, extremely detailed examination of my private parts, indicating her fear of testicular pain in my righty suggested a potentially life threatening condition, asking that I not be embarrassed about her easy access too my private parts. Removing my briefs, I told her I would promise not too be embarrassed about my private parts if she could locate them for me. Being completely exposed too fer view and touch while asking where these private parts were, that I was supposed too be embarrassed having on display for her inspection. She got the point. People our age had no incentive for shyness or false modesty, so she was extremely thourough in her exploration of my anatomy, worried enough about my survival too spend over two hours feeling around my boyparts and abdominal and anal regions, prostate, kidneys, etc. I understood my body a lot better than in puberty, and shevwas a medical professional of half qa century who'd seen mor naked males than I had in my lifetime, knowing way more about malw anatomy than I did. The embarressing part she apologized for never took place, but she did save my life.

  • To check up everything would take hours and cost a fortune. So what are you being seen for. A normal physical will check on the major conditions of your major organs. Listening to your lungs and to your heart with a stethoscope requires your shirt off, but usually a bra can still be worn. Checking your sex organs and/or your colon/rectum requires access to them. If you are getting checked for things that require access to those areas, they will have you put on a gown. If they do not need access to your genitals/rectum they will allow underwear under the gown. Then they will only expose the areas as they are looking at them.

  • You are usually robed or draped and only the body part they want to check out is bared. You are rarely completely naked and most always have a nurse present if the sex of the doctor and patient are different. So for you to be completely naked when the doctor comes in is suspect to your intentions.

  • They should offer you a gown.

  • Totally depends on the type of checkup. And even then they give you a gown.

  • Not if you're being seen for an ENT problem.

    • What’s that?

    • Otolaryngology or Ear, Nose, and Throat

  • I think it depends on the check up or the type of doctor. There have been times when I had to and others when I didn't.

  • If you're going to the doctor for a checkup you're giving consent to be examined. So the doctor isn't forcing you to do anything. It's just that doctors can do a better job examining the human body when it's not covered with clothes. It's what they do and they've seen everything thousands of times.

  • yup it is honey... nothing to be worried about

  • Not normal. Depends on ehat type of a check up

  • It can be, depending on what they are checking.
