Why Would Someone (Read Description) Like This (me) Need/Own Lingerie?

Question

Most of you know I am not into that romance stuff and whatever else come with that.
So... being the way I am, I categorize lingerie into a sex (y) category, so never owned any lingerie... like, why would I?
My female friend (who's a Bible teacher at that, ha!) was surprised when I told her I don't have any. She made it seem like its a must for a girl to have. So she bought me some...
So I got this lingerie that collects unnecessary space in my drawer. I'm gonna git rid of it.
Anyway, why would my friend (who knows I'm like pretty much ace here,) would think I should own lingerie anyway? Like... what does a Cookie do with such a thing? Odd.

If you don't like, you should not be forced to wear it. Personally I think this picture looks very good but wearing it should not be mandatory for any one!

I agree that lingerie seems to have no purpose outside of sexual situations. I'm guessing your friend doesn't know that you're asexual. Because if she knew that and still bought you this anyway, that would be a very thoughtless gift!

And it even might encourage him to be playful too

It's Im guessing a right to a woman's passage. A right to womanhood.

It's like how guys need a good belt for work or tools in their house.

It's a part of gender culture.
Somewhere down the line, if and when you find a serious relationship or husband a girl might ask, what are you planning to do for him, something special.. do you have anything intimate? And they will bring you back into that same process again.

It's our roles... For guys they simply need tools to fix things so if a man hears that he has none he quickly goes out to buy them.

Another topic is cooking. If someone came into the kitchen and said... You have no cookware! You need to buy some!

Given its forced gender roles but they still lightly exist. And not necessarily for bad reason either... It's just simple and light roles...

My advice is if you don't like it, just pitch it out or place it on Amazon/ Ebay for sale with saying " Never Worn " I think it's crazy for people to buy us things that we won't use that's like someone buying me men's sexy underwear. I just don't wear that kind stuff

I was always told by my girl friends and any woman i talked to that they feel sexy and more a woman when they wear lingerie. Too many people think it is for the man but it really isn't. Everything a woman does is not for men. But for themselves and their self esteem.
