Are you 100% honest with your doctors about your sexual life?

Sometimes I still get a little bit embarrassed when talking to my gynaecologist about my sexual life. Especially when he asks me about specifics. But I am 100% honest about everything.

Superb Opinion

  • I tell my gynecologist Anything about my sexual activity that may raise any health concerns and I do this with no shame or discomfort or reservations and I haven't had any issues with it, some times we even laugh about how I word some of my questions or descriptions talking to him because I feel so comfortable doing it.

    • Same. I'm way more comfortable talking to him now than I was in the beginning. It's just that sometimes I have to be very descriptive too and I get a little embarrassed.

    • It's okay to do this because he needs to know what you may be doing if there's any risks of injury, irritation or possible infections that could be brought on by the sex acts.

    • I know. Feel free to message me if you want to talk about it.

  • All of my doctors are female including my dermatologist who routinely has me completely disrobing so she can check for melanomas (spent way too much time in sun when younger. I don't like men's hands on my body. I'd be a little leery of a OB-GYN asking anything but relevant questions about sex life, your an attractive young woman and he could be feeding his fantasies

  • Always be 1000000% honest with your doctor, if you lie or leave things out of your explanation, he can't help you as good or make it worse in an attemt to help you.

  • I dont think they've ever asked me about my sex life. Only been there for paps and babies so that could be why. Women that go for birthcontrol probably have to be asked sex related questions

    • Yes, I got my IUD inserted a couple of months ago. Was on the pill before that.

    • I did get asked once from a ER doctor if I was sexually active in the last 6 months and i was like yeah obviously since I was 10 weeks pregnant. And yes that makes sense since you were getting birth control.
