At what age did you get your own room?

I had my own room at age 3 but always slept in my moms room. Around age 6, she met my sisters dad and we stayed over there for like a year. Pure torture. I had to share a room with his son. Then when she gave birth to my sis, i was back in my moms room since they broke up. I stayed in there til she started dating this other guy around age 8. Then i had to share a room with my sis for like 2 years. Then my mom turned the living room into her bedroom for a year so that we could have her own rooms. Her boyfriend was mad af because we kept cockblocking their sex sessions 🤣 Then we moved to a 3 bedroom house in 2007 but my sis and i went back to sharing a room until age 15 because she was afraid to sleep alone. #FeelFreeToList #MyOwnRoom

  • Oy it kept becoming the family storage room for most of my life. Literally stacked to the ceilings with boxes so. Oh and then one time we were in an apartment. So my room was the living room right in front the loud ass air unit. Horrible memories of our family nights watching transformers and Bridge to Terabithia and can't hear a damn thing. One ear getting blasted with cold air and the other ear hearing my dad slosh his food around in his mouth. Me trying to ask hime to stop, they can't hear me. And I see mom sloshin her food the same and I'm just fuckin screaming my inside my brains. Try and lay down and they get upset and butt hurt that I didn't want to be part of family time. White people I swear.

    • Damn. But you have your own room now right?

    • Im making one lol

  • I got mine at like 12 or so? My sister wanted her own room no matter what. Sharing didn't bother me at all actually so I just said if you want your own room you can move but I'm staying here and she was so shocked and pissed. She had to take a smaller room. In the end my mom went into this really small room and my sister got my parents bedroom but I don't know if she was happy even with that. Anyway she got kicked out at 17 and now she's doing her own thing.

    • Lol at least your mom didn't turn the living room into her bedroom

  • Got my own room at 10.5 yo when my mom married my stepdad.. he had a 6 bedroom house.

Had to share again at 15.5yo and have had to share until I was 18yo. I was living with my boss and his wife and got my own very tiny room. Still it was a room.

Moving back to live with Family at 19yo, I had to share a room with my sister.. til I moved out at 22yo to live with my boyfriend. Moved back at 23yo when he left me.

    • Damn sounds rough

    • what was rough, was my mom divorcing my SD for no real reason... i loved him more than my real dad.

  • I'm the oldest out of all my sisters, so I've had my own room since I was 11. Even so, my sisters always wanted to sleep in my room because it was 'the most cozy and comfortable'. I didn't really mind, but if they touched any of my things, it was going down ~Mortal Combat Fatality Style~😂

    • Lol and Im the oldest too

    • @dizzydesii Ayye😄 I guess we both earned first place😂😂

  • Hmmmm probably 4 years old.

    • Same

  • Age 24

    • Cause of roommates?

    • Nope, I moved out of my parents at 24. Before that I shared a room with my brother since he was born in 2000, so I guess I had my own room for about 8 years prior

  • Birth lmfao I had my oldest at 20 and my youngest at 25 and they stay sleeping in my own room so it was a nice 20 years of having it to myself at least...

    • I bet lol

  • Always had my own room while my parents were married but when they got divorced... had to share it with my sister at both their new houses 🙃 until my older brother moved out.

    • Bet you were glad when he moved haha

    • Yess and thats when we finally had a nice bathroom No more beard hairs in the sink and piss on the toilet seat

    • 😂😂😂

  • I'm going to say that I barely shared a room with my brother. It only happened every weekend. So I've basically always had a room... But when my brother turned 18 it was my only room for sure. However, I did move out of my old childhood apartment at 19 to 20 so my first official room was at 19 to 20 years old or so...

    • Ooo nice
