It depends. Have they lived? Have they worked through adversity? Accomplishments on the own or their parents coat-tails? Are they a one-trick pony (nobody cares about your high school accomplishments). If they haven’t experienced these things, they are still young adults and don’t get the ‘badge.’
I think it depends on the maturity level.
Yeah, your still going to do some crazy things but your supposed to. Hell, I still do crazy stuff like jumping out if perfectly good airplanes. Just think of the consequences before you act. Then accept them when they happen.
But it's how you handle difficulty and challenges. How you take on responsibility and hold yourself accountable. Those are the marks of an adult. Do those and you will be fine, and go far in life.
Its hard to picture 20 year olds as adults. The government doesn't even trust you with beer yet.
But. You can vote. Buy a lottery ticket. And join the military, go to some far away land, get your ass shot off, and die; while screaming in agonizing pain; and come home in a metal box.
But try to have a Bud with your old man before you are deployed? Fuck that noise! You aren't qualified for that!

They're still teens. I don't think of modern adults as being mature enough until around 23, on average. Although there are exceptions, like mature teenagers and immature 40 and 50-somethings.
When I was 20 I thought I was an adult but at times did not act like one. Sex was (still is) on my mind 2. I think different 20 yr olds have different levels of maturity so it probably depends on the individual. What do you think?

I don't consider anyone younger than 25 an adult because your brain isn't fully developed until around age 25.
In my opinion they are more or less like a tween. They're post teen but not fully an adult
Being an adult is honestly about the responsibility that you have and how you deal with it. If you are in college, living off of your parents, you're very likely not being an adult. If you are responsible for your own life or another, that's very adultlike.
It depends on their upbringing. Some are coddled in youth and thus don't grow up until reality slaps them in the face. Others are raised in a strict environment, thus they are adults as they leave the home and merely need to discover who they are as a person.
Technically and legally an adult at 18. So it's no big deal. However I do think people of my generation and younger are maturing at a slower rate than our parents and grandparents.
