Do you think its time to seriously make internet porn illegal and inaccessible and companies are subjected to be sued if they put porn on a website?

To gain access to porn in the early 90's or before you had to buy a porn magazine or buy a video tape and be at least 18 years old, but now its literally a click away on a phone. Children can easily be exposed to porn disgusting trash from anyone and damage their minds from a very early age. Pornography is very destructive.

  • I think it would be too hard to do that. Also, the porn industry is huge and consists of many things. There's porn that you watch, then there's erotica (erotic literature), sex shops, adult movies, etc. There's a lot and it'd be hard to manage all of that. And erotica can be written by literally anybody nowadays anonymously. Does that mean people who have writing as a hobby have to stop just because it can be accessed to underage people? Most sites say it's +18 or has adult content enough as it is. It's a warning or reminder to those who don't want to see it. The only thing that can be done is parents monitoring what their kids are getting into if they allow them on the internet.

  • I don’t think it ought to be freely accessed like it is because small kids can view it. There should be age verification on those sites. That being said, I looked at porn as a kid and wasn’t scarred by it but I understand why some parents might want to shield their children from it and the status quo makes it impossible for them to do that.

    • At what age was you exposed to porn?

    • Probably around 9 years old. My friends and I would watch once we discovered it was available. We thought it was kind of gross at the time but the allure of watching something we knew was forbidden was strong.

    • That's terrible. You at age 9 have no damn business watching such a thing at that age.

  • There's a bit of evidence that suggests that more porn equals less rape. That the two are inversely proportional. Further there's the fact that people should have the right to do whatever they want and that includes making money in porn. It's just prudish to try and limit those people's freedoms for your morality.

  • It would be good if they would, but that's not going to happen anytime soon. There's a reason it's free and accessible, it's sedation. Those in power want men emasculated, passive, sedated. It makes them easier to control.

    • Good points.

  • No they shouldn't and as tech gets better it's going to get even easier to get this stuff!

  • yes. easy solution is turn off the tv and don't look at it. but that doesn't help everyone else addicted. sadly, have to regulate it and that creates more corruption.

  • Porn is probably not my biggest worry for my kids. I worry more about actual pedophiles trying to contact them via chats in various games targeting young users.

honestly “the Internet” is like “the world” and as parents for young kids you need to be monitoring what they’re doing. As they move into their teens that monitoring probably drops away and is replaced by a lot of honest discussions about safety and so on.

  • How is porn distructive i been watching porn since i 11 i in good relationship and my life fine. Nothing about porn is unhealthy. What good would banning porn do.

  • True.

Back in the day you had to fight for porn. It was a rare thing indeed.

As far as banning porn? Uff... might as well try to make the Earth stop rotating.

  • Yes.

  • I somewhat agree.

  • Well it's kind of educational in a way but it can be destructive... the thing which should be stopped/banned is who's accessing it...

  • lmao... that horse is way out of the barn.

  • If you don't wanna use it don't... Don't come up with something that nobody will back...

More people watch porn than those who don't...

  • Banning porn is like using a colander to store water.

  • Yeah good luck with that.

  • Eh. Its not so bad

    • Its terrible. You aren't seeing the whole picture of what porn does to people especially children.

    • What does it do then?

    • Well, for children obviously they don't need to be exposed to that type of stuff. Porn distorts what sex is suppose to be about. Porn can also cause people to be porn addicts.

  • They do that in Arab countries but good luck trying to stop that here, it’s a free country

  • No, that's ridiculous.

  • it would be great to ban porn. but it's hard. sex industry is so big and sexual stuff can be found everywhere. in anime, cartoon, movies, dramas, magazine, comic books, etc. especially in Japanese entertaining. they added so many sexual stuff even promoting a lot of sex with 5 years old kids.

    • 5 year olds? Wow. Japan is disgusting.

    • there are many sex genre in hentai mangas. sex with kids, sex with crusty old men/women, etc, Japanese sex are mostly accessible

  • It, along with feminism has completely changed peoples desires to be in a relationship and have children. It can't continue without big issues

  • Trying to stop porn is like stopping the earth rotating. There are already networks in existance where postings and sites cannot be deleted easily.

    • Yes, it can if a congress will be dead serious on fighting this problem.

    • Sorry, you would have to discontinue all internet and other network activity. It ain't gonna happen! I have spent years working on this so know it's true!

    • What's so difficult about making porn inaccessible? Websites caught will be subject to being sued and face criminal charges. In such scenarios Websites will be very careful not to put porn online.
