Am I wrong to feel that this person is deserving of punishment? If you dont think so please explain and help me understand?

I'll probably come off as vindictive and crazy. After you read this if you think that i am wrong to feel like I do please help me.. I want to understand if maybe i need to change my stance on this. I don't want to wish something as bad as jail time on someone if that is not what they deserve. I have spent a couple weeks there so I know the reality.

This person did not put their hands on me. They were being a pervert and telling a fantasy about them and a teenage girl, in their demented fantasy she was 13 or 14.. They were acting like it really happened and turned on by telling this to call responder.. I was this responder. This is a resource meant to help people that are having problems, a, place where they can call in. So the argument goes I should have been prepared for something like this. Fair enough but does that excuse what this person was using valuable resources for? their own sexual gratification? If there's any question as to that they had later admitted to nervously engaging in masturbation by touching themselves during the call. This person made a lot of these calls. There were zero consequences, no punishment, not even a slap on the wrist. Middle aged man did not learn from this, seems they just embraced their pedophilia even more. I know i am attacking their character with mention of other things they did. Like contact abuse survivors for chat on false pretenses, to get a thrill.. I can't say for sure but I suspect he dabbled in what would be considered child porn if only it were suggestive. In my opinion 30 or 40 year old man looking at pictures of tweens even if they're not pornographic, should probably be a punishable offense and if they're looking at them it's probably worse. I guess I know too much about this person. But I suffered trauma and not just a little oh, and I felt they contacted me too much after. They also got out of being punished for harassment because act like they want to go to jail. WTF right? I going to finish up an update

  • None of the options you gave were adequate to choose from. Using up valuable time and resources for anything other the purpose of its existence... It is in the very least unethical and immoral. Are there any laws for punishing any individual for doing such thing? Considering you feel he is harassing you and since you know who this person is... can you make a personal complaint against him? Did you record the things he said to you? If you did, that would greatly boost your credibility and need to make him stop one way or another.

Yes, if you feel harassed by him and thinking he is tieing up valuable time from those who really need it and potentially put their lives at risk by doing so. It's your duty to do whatever you can to make sure he never does this again or to anyone else. Report, complain and pursue by whatever means necessary to let the world know what he is doing and have others tell you what to do about it or better yet get them to something about him.

  • Yes, this definitely deserves punishment, and on several grounds.

    1) This is a sexual assault on you. It might not be physical, but it's an unwanted sexual interaction that you didn't consent to.
    2) It's stopping you from helping people who genuinely need it.
    3) As you say, he's probably looking at child porn. This shouldn't be considered enough to convict, but in my opinion it's grounds for a warrant to search his house and computer.

  • pedophiles are born this way, to me as long as they don't actually do anything to any children i don't find it harmful, just imagining and watching it shouldn't be illegal, there is the argument that even if they do not do it themselves, they are promoting it while watching, so other people are doing it. I agree with it but it will never stop, would you stop finding men handsome if they made it illegal?, if i shouldn't judge a trans person born this way i shouldn't judge pedophiles either, it is not their fault as long and they do not harm anybody.

    • Okay what do you think about this. He does this kind of thing. For example there was a person who had been raped or something and she suffered a lot from that. Chose her for a chat about his issues. The chat was for his sexual self gratification. Isn't there a way punish people for doing that?

    • Of course she was done the wiser that he was doing that. I wanted to inform her but that it might make things worse for her I did not

    • i didn't quite understand what you said, but it is never okay to rape or commit any violence to anybody, if a guy has rapist tendencies he should keep it just in his fantasies there are alternatives to satisfy his sexual desires without raping anyone for real. Not everybody has that self control though, then the person might need help

  • From the sounds of it he needs therapy; not jail. As he hasn't done anything illegal, yet.
