No, it wouldn't. People often try to force love and sex into the same category, when they simply are not. They are two distinct and separate things. You can have sex with someone you have no feelings for whatsoever. This is a purely physical act. Likewise, you can love someone with all your heart and never have sex with them. Love and relationships are purely emotional. So having sex with someone else or engaging in a threesome does not in any way, shape, or form mean that you care any less for the person you love, at all. Those are only physical acts, not emotional.

However, jealousy, trust, and pain are also emotions. If your physical act betrays their trust, causes them pain, or makes them jealous and you're aware of this but choose to do it anyway, then you have proven you do not fully love them. You would not intentionally or knowingly harm someone you loved, physically or emotionally.

I can see where your doubts are and I'd think the same sort of thing, If he's suggesting it maybe he isn't totally satisfied. Or maybe it's a 1 in a lifetime thing and he just wants to try it.

I think that sex has very less to do with love. 3some is just sex. Adventure maybe. If both are ok with 3rd person then good for them. Some people are really okay with it. And they still love each other.
