I have a theory:

I think it's because guys masturbate a lot more, and tend to masturbate at a younger age than girls, before they start having sex.

As such guys become very adept at the silent orgasm, because it's embarrassing to be caught masturbating when you're younger. You learn to become a ninja. So that basically just becomes normal, and making noises feels abnormal.

Girls, I presume, when they first start learning how to have orgasms, it's usually under a completely different scenario. Either they are with a partner, or they are older, or both. But this probably isn't always true.

I'm actually interested to know if there are girls who don't moan.

In any case, you should be able to tell how close a guy is to climax by his breathing patterns. If you can't hear his breathing, you can ask him to breathe a little heavier. Heavy breathing probably comes more naturally for him than moaning. Also, you can ask him to announce it.

I got the same critic from my last ex girlfriend.
After that, I started filming myself touching myself and moaning to practice it and get used to it. Making sure I do it, but I don't over do it.

Some guys hold it in because it's a form of showing emotions and we generally don't like to show that particular one because it can be embarrassing. However, if you ask your guy, he'd probably be ok with doing it for you but you gotta ask him.
