Is it sexist that women have to cover their secondary sexual characteristics like nipples but men do not have to cover any secondary sexual traits?

Read the details about secondary sexual characteristics before saying a nonsense, and please dont use insults, otherwise i may delete your post! This topic is very misunderstood, this is why it is important that you read the facts about secondary sexual characteristics.

"Secondary sexual characteristics are those sexually dimorphic characteristics that are not directly involved in reproduction.
For males, secondary characteristics include facial and chest hair, increased body hair, pelvic build, upper body muscular build, and the ability to generate muscle mass at a faster rate than the female.
For females, secondary sex characteristics include thicker hair on the head (in some cases), rounded hips/figure, a decreased ability to generate muscle mass at a fast rate, decreased upper body strength, breasts, a menstrual cycle, and increased body fat composition."

So i am just just curious about people who dont want women to show their nipples but dont have a problem if a man show his body hair etc. Scientificically it does not make sense that women have to cover it while men dont. So scientific/biological facts dont give a f about your feelings. You are just against women showing nipples but have no problem with men showing their secondary sexual traits because you dont know a shit about biology or you are just sexist. I personally think everyone should cover their nipples lol

Please read the deatails. Penis is a primary sexual trait such as vagina. So you can't compare penis with a secondary traits like breast. And i dont say women should show their nipples. I just think men should cover some of their secondary traits like women do.

Do not involve societal exception. Just because society wants it, does not mean anything. By this logic do not complain when society does not take male victims of rape/ violence seriously. Society can be sexist. And read the the description above, otherwise i will delete your ignorant posts about biology. Again i dont say women should show their nipples. Read what i wrote.

  • No. I don't think its sexist at all. What i understand is that women and men have different triggers and different intensities of sexual drive.
Men have higher sexual drive on a standard norm when compared to most women, there will always be exceptions but lets leave that for now.
Men also have too little of a threshold for getting horny or getting "fun", this is actually due to instincts kicking in more than other things. A womens body is a good indicator or her genetics, so is a mans but, men can overcome their genetics to a certain point to be the alpha and get the girl. Mind you im talking about animalistic side of humans.
Men also have this "all senses can arouse" deal. This is because of a trait that comes with fighting. In fighting the better a male uses his senses the better the chances at victory. This has an underlying side too, mens senses are more in tune to information this means that sexual pleasures as well can be had or amplified through the senses. Hence the looking from afar, and if a women lets, the touching and smelling intensifies the feel of sex and pleasure of it.
This is how men are more triggered by sight and other senses more than a women normally is, again there are exceptions but thats for later.
Since men are more sex driven and derives sexual pleasure from sight as well (not a lot but enough to arouse), this then becomes a reasonable reason as to why men would look. Women of old cultures have somehow figured this out and had decided not to let random men have eye pleasure at their expense. Hence at one point in time some decisions were made to hide the boobs. The genitals were covered way before that. Thats another story entirely. Anyhow at some time women just decided that its not worth random men having fap material and getting free mind sex off of them (sexual pleasure at their expense, either by viewing or by mind fucks). Since the decision was to avoid those, they hid it. This in turn made the male mind view it just as important as the genitals of a woman. That is, through social behavior and societal evolution, to men, boobs are also highly ranked along with vaginas.
Simply put, nowadays many women take it easy and say its empowering and such, but many men just get a good night sleep due to it at their expense and they don't know it.
    Thats all.
    Any concerns?

    • Lol. When it comes to such topics, you guys get fucking antiman feminazis. So you are basically saying men are sexual driven animals that can't control themself. Just because you get a boner, women dont have to act the way you want. The whole body of woman is sexualized. So you will get sexually triggered in any way, does not matter how much she is covered. Women in revealing clothes are also very sexy. And i have heard that men who live near to beaches dont get sexually arroused when they see almost naked women since they are used to see half naked women. So it is to do with your habits. And i did not say that women should show their nipples. I am just saying that you may cover some of your secondary sexual traits like breast hair? I mean i dont except men to hide their nipples since it ain't a sexual trait, but your upper body, body hair is sexual traits and i know enough women who think male body hair is hot

    • I think you misunderstand me. Female shoulders, head hair, and waist are also sexual traits but these days women dont cover it in summer and it does not bother you since you are used to see female head's hair, shoulders, or waist

    • But thank you very much for your long reply!

  • The thing is no country has a Technocracy government model.

there are multitude of reasons throughout history why women do not bare their breasts, and cover them ideally using a bra type clothing.

Simple things like running for a bus, try doing that topless.

is it sexist. Up to a point.

however a good few thousand years society in developed countries, decided that women being topless was not what society wanted.

we now have a situation where after 1000 years or so society has a fairly rigid set of morals and what is deemed to be allowable behaviour.

other examples, a guy and girl digging a trench, if the guy gets hot and takes his top off not an issue, a girl doing it runs risk of her boobs getting hurt.

I go to nudist beaches and camps so have zero issue with nakedness etc,

saying it is sexist is simply to easy, there are far more mitigating reasons why not.

in fact a lot of places not stop guys going without tops, a lot of towns and city’s in summer stop guys going without a top on.

    sexist potentially,

does any one really want to look at 50 yr old sagging wrinkle sacks,

  • Of course it's sexist, but men, who are SAID to be highly visual, are easily overstimulated because of their excess testosterone, I HEAR. So them seeing women's nipples would make them faint in the street or rape nipple showing women.
I personally think since men control most aspects of our society, they show off their secondary sexual characteristics to ATTRACT females, but they don't want THEIR females to show off THEIR secondary sexual characteristics which might lead to a confrontation between them and another male...
It's all about dominance and conflict between males.

  • Sexist isn’t even the right word. It’s NEANDERTHAL IDIOCY that anyone even has to cover their primary sexual characteristics. Nudity laws have got to be the most absurd to exist in a supposedly developed society.

  • I wouldn't say it's sexist - you don't know how many men would love to see women's secondary sexual characteristics - we get turned on by seeing you wearing clothes let alone not wearing them - I don't think that happens often with women unless they're looking for quick hook ups in a gym or on some beach - which is very rare again most women look for relationships - Even worse is the fact that many undesirable men will be looking and that's bad for the women - women as well will judge the women who show their full breasts because they're their competition after all - Also the woman will be "perceived" by many men or whore like because of this and won't be respected - it definitely isn't like flashing a penis in public because no one wants to see that it just degrades her value as a woman in the eyes of both other genders - is it fair i don't know but it's definitely more effective than walking around with a naked breast..

    • I did not say women should show their nipples and any person who degrade women just because of this, is a male cunt. I dont believe in concept that say that value of person us depended on its clothes

    • Or bodycount

  • 1. This issue does not implicate "science" at all.

    2. Of all the secondary female characteristics, how many must be concealed?

    3. Why is it that our society requires breasts to be concealed when in public? Isn't there actually a reason? A reason that involves discouraging rude or sexually aggressive behavior towards women?

    • Why do you want women to cover their sexual secondary traits while men dont cover anything? I think everyone should cover or none

    • Oh sorry i Think i misunderstand you

    • The first source is so bad. I am sorry. Actually women dont have to cover all of their secondary sexual traits such as shoulders, or waist but men dont covery any secondsry sexual trait

    • Show All
  • everyone should just have their clothes on in public lol. except for the beach. nips free on the beach

    • So people should not be allowed to use public pools or sun themselves outside in their own yards? The only people allowed to swim or sun themselves are the ones who live close to an ocean?

    • I dont understand the dislikes. She said nobody should be naked in public, except beaches

    • I dont get it

  • Yeah. Our nipples are the same as men's nipples. It's the boobs that are different, yet it's fine to show off your boobs, as long as nipples don't show. Doesn't make sense.

  • "secondary sexual characteristics" ? ... is that a thing?

  • Men don't have boobs... well large men have Moobs but that is not the same.

    • But it's fine for women to show boobs. Just not nipples.

    • True, look at some of the tops and swimwear women wear. Pretty much just covers the nipples and shows off the boobs. Which right there shows how women use their body to attract attention; the more boobage and cleavage you show, the more attention you will get. I don't see any of it as a 'sexist' thing. More like you work with what you got and men love it.

  • Don't have too. I've been on topless and nude beaches before guy's eyes follow my nipples around lol

  • I don't want women to cover their breasts.

  • So would you walk around topless in the city? I don't get the point of this discussion. There are already nudist areas where you can go be nude if you want. The only place guys don't have their shirts on is at a beach on a lake or maybe in a park. It would be dumb to buy a shirt to go swimming as a guy when you don't need one. Do you own a factory for swimming shirts for guys is that it? :D Our bodies are different the characterization if it's a primary or secondary sexual characteristic doesn't matter.

    • Please read my update and description

    • i dont say women should show their nipple. I will delete your posts if you keep ignoring my update/details since you have the answere to your questions. I am done with repeating myself

  • It isn't just a sexual characteristic though is it, breasts are (According to my recent biology course, I have no source other than bexhill college moodle. ) a secondary sexual organ. I seem to rmb them being classed as a secondary sexual organ due to the role in raising a newborn infant, now thinking on this basis, should you walk around with your genitals exposed?

    • Read my the update and the description

    • Breasts ain't genitals. And i dont say women should show their nipple. will delete your posts if you keep ignoring my update/details since you have the answere to your questions. I am done with repeating myself

    • I don't say they are genitals, your question does not mention location, you are wrong to say women, since plenty of countries outside of Europe don't care about exposing breasts.

  • No. It is society's acknowledgement of the differences between us, especially reactions.

    • Society also dont take male victims of rape/violence. Are you ok with that? If not, you are hypocritical.

    • That's a logical fallacy. I do not accept the premise. Society should always take any rape seriously. It is aggravated assault, pure and simple. The Creator designed men and women different in the way we react to sexual signaling. It is a fact of biochemistry. These two fact sets have no connection.

    • You just deny science. You involve the society. Why do women have to accep the societal exceptions why you dont. Cover your upper body then. Why do i have to see it? And why do women with babies have to cover their nipples? Why do you get sexually arraused seeing a baby getting get fed by breat milk?

    • Show All
  • What do you mean by "have to cover". It's legal for women to be topless where I live and in plenty of countries. Rules for most businesses and restaurants require shirts for both.

now it's considered a much bigger deal for women to be topless and I haven't seen one actually do so in many many years. But it's legal!

  • Breasts are a sexual trigger to men since they indicate a womand ability to feed her young. No man thinks like this, but caveman-brain, instinct, whatever you want to call it does.
This is why breasts are a more direct trigger to men than body hair is to women...
For example wider hips are also a secondary sexual characteristic, but having to hide those is no longer needed, but Victorian era men and women might disagree.
Its not sexist as in nobody thinks women don't deserve to get to show them, the taboo is mostly there because it still triggers (more/too many) instinctual reactions in other people, not just men.

    • So women have to cover it because you get triggered? Wtf do women have to cover just because men get triggered but men do not give f about whether women get sexually triggered. Then i dont want to see fugly men. There is no argument for this sexist bullshit

    • I didn't mean triggered like that, like you are right now. I meant triggering instinctual reactions. Your argument about fugly men would suggest everyone gets a mandatory rating by the government and below a certain grade men wear burkas? have you thought your suggestion through?

    • I thought this was a serious question not a feminazi venting, mb

    • Show All
  • Well most of our secondary sexual characteristics or erogenous zones aren't nearly as attractive as yours.

  • No. That's the way were fearfully and wonderfully made by our Creator.

  • Yes women having to cover their hair in many cultures while men don’t have to is sexist.

  • I would definitely agree that men should be more considerate of woman in that way. Like I know a friend of mine ALWAYS gets turned on when she sees her man walking around shirtless. And it’s funny because nothing else really turns her on. The primary reason is really only society though. Men ions ago decided that as workers they might need to take off their shirts when it is hot. And because woman didn’t have a say in what men could do back then it was allowed. But you know those girls were dripping when they walked through a work yard or work camp. But if you look at some less civilized cutlers woman work in the girls as much as men and are allowed to go shirtless as well and some times you can even see them feeding their babies while working.
it is totally a sexist issue and the world has felt with it for ever.

  • In NYC, where I live, it’s legal for women to be topless in public.

  • Sure, but it is what it is.

  • No. Women were made differently than men, have different roles and functions, and have more body areas that need to be covered up
