Adultery is very wrong, but the reality is cheating is natural. Anyone can say whatever they want about loyalty and how loyal they are, but when a woman of high physical beauty that you desire and she desires you back then its virtually impossible not to do. Any can resist not to cheat with a average or ugly looking person, but with extreme beauty, good intellect and sexiness then that's a whole different level to overcome.

It's super to say no because you never had physically beautiful women with pleasant personalities desire you. Looking from the outside in isn't the same experience being inside.

  • I’m not sure human beings are truly wired for monogamy. We can make a conscious choice to abide by it and decide the overall benefits of your relationship and your emotional attachment to a certain person outweigh the possibility of having sexual contact with whoever would be mutually willing with you. But show me somebody who says their capability to be attracted to people other than their chosen partner completely shut down upon entry into the relationship, and I’ll show you a damn liar, lmao. At least with guys, I guess I can’t speak for girls as well, and I see evidence in nature of females being more selective with mates while males mate with as many females as possible. But us guys aren’t that far removed from animal mode, haha. I’m not saying we can’t control it, I’m just saying it’s always in us, and that just is what it is. That’s coming from a guy who controls himself, I don’t have any poor behavior to make excuses for, I’m just calling it straight. So I guess in short I’m saying that the inclination for attraction to anyone, regardless of your relationship status, is 100% natural, despite our ability to suppress acting on it. I’d just say that we know what we’re signing up for in a relationship, whether it’s natural or not to be monogamous, so if we’re not up to it, then we should just stay free agents.

    • They aren't wired to be loyal. Humans aren't loyal no matter what they claim.

    • I can buy that. Or maybe I’d say loyalty is a learned and ultimately artificial behavior.

    • It's artificial. Let's see how loyal you are during a famine or starvation? Literally anyone is subject to getting murdered by you. LMBO

  • We're serial monogamist. Look at some matriarchal groups run by women. Those are very promiscuous. Youd think if things were ran by women it would be pure monogamy but no, women are just as wild as men when it comes to serial dating and having many partners. It's a big fat lie sociery has taught us all that women only want marriage.

Having many partners is simply human nature. Nearly every society and group of people are documented as serial monogamist. Even in societies where monogamy and staying with one partner are heavily culturally enforced.

I think cheating may be a result of socially forced monogamy. People dont really want to stay in one relationship their whole lives. only through social conditioning that we deviate from our nature in my opinion.

    • It's true. Men in ancient world married many wives. Case in points Solomon had 700 wives and 300 girlfriend aka side chicks. Utterly ridiculous.

  • Well, I particularly have urges to hurt others or myself. It's a natural urge or desire, it's destructive, but my brain is wired to seek out destruction. Does that mean I act on it? Well no, not anymore. Just because you have an urge or you have an opportunity to cheat, like me having a sharp object in my hand, doesn't excuse my behavior or my actions that are harmful to myself or others. It's just a lame excuse, "OH IT'S MY DRIVE AND MY NATURE TO SLEEP WITH A BUNCH OF PEOPLE BECAUSE I'M A MAN," like it doesn't excuse anything or make it morally right. But if you're that willing to cheat, maybe you shouldn't be in a relationship.

  • No it’s what people with no morals, no standards and no self control do. Animals don’t have the ability to think so they just pounce on anything. Humans do have the ability to think so if they’re just going to cheat without thinking about another person’s feelings and the fact that they’re backstabbing someone then they’re worse than wild animals.

  • No. People genuinely happy with the person they're with don't cheat. Those that aren't content look for other options.

  • I don’t think so. I never have. If you aren’t satisfied with your partner you need to talk to them or find someone else. If both parties are ok with an open relationship, by all means. It’s all about trust.

  • I completely disagree. Cheating is no more natural than stealing.

    • Thank you, Lliam!

    • @Jamie05rhs, you're a good man.

    • Thanks, @lliam! You, too!

  • Humans descend from troupe primates and as such, there is an unspoken 'truth' in the expression "It takes a village to raise a child" in long gone days, children were raised communally---

The males bonded through troupe hunting while females governed their extended family home fronts and 'wife swapping' was FAR more common. Hence the possessive expression: HER man or HIS woman (for THIS breeding cycle)

So 'YES' long term monogamy is a 'cyclic' human phenomena borne of the geographically fixed extended family troupe going out of fashion... no reason an uncomfortable ill-considered pairing should last 'til death do us part'.

  • No not really.

if anything it’s going to be men and more so in certain cultures where the same level of respect for women is not there.

but it’s not natural, often guys showing off to mates on how much a guy they are.

  • "it's virtually impossible not to do." 🙄

    • It is though especially if you are a man. Ever wonder why God commanded not to commit adultery as one of the 10 commandments when He could have listed not to rape, not molest children or some disturbing human act as the 1st 10 commandments of civil laws for the ancient Hebrews? It's because the 1st 10 commandments are the ones He knows humans are more and easily susceptible of doing since it's extremely common to desire to commit adultery. Just in France if I remember correctly around 70 something percent believe adultery is ok to do.

    • Jesus even said that just thinking of a woman sexually will cause you to commit adultery in your heart

    • @COMMODOREII: He meant lusting/desiring a woman who already belongs to another man or the man is already and still desiring another woman not his. But I get your point. Jesus is calling adultery in the heart because under the right circumstances he will physical do it since the thought and desire is already in his heart.

  • Yeah. I also know appeal to nature is a fallacy.

  • I will say this, attraction is real and it is powerful! Before you claimed each other you both were actively looking at other people as partners so it is possible to slip up and do something you should not do but id say it's the person that is honest and open that is honorable. Trying to restore the relationship. But we can't just lift our hands up either because it is possible not to cheat. But I think it's a fair point that you need to be forgiving of either gender because we are not perfect either.

  • Yes, but that doesn't make it right.

  • Yes. Especially in men. It actually goes against you guys biology and natural instinct. Men definitely are wired to wanna spread their seed to as many women as possible. And actually monogamy is playing a role in men's evolution and making them more feminine actually

    • It's not for the reason you stated, but rather is because humans can't be satisfied. We naturally always desire more what our eyes can see.

    • No it's for a reason I've stated. Trust me I'm weird and have studied this after my brother mentioned 2 me about men cheating. Maybe to you it has to do with not being satisfied but the overall reason is men are just driven to have more partners because of procreation reasons.

  • Yeah, based on the definition of "inclination".

  • No, it's just an excuse.

  • no because adultery is a term that relates to marriage which is a man made concept

  • Absolutly NO.

    • bullshit

    • If you say so.

    • that si just a stupid excuse that you have ther

  • No in my opinion that would just be another sad excuse.

  • cheating isn't fare and it's hurtful and people still fall for desires of the flesh so yes that something to fight off

  • NO. I DON'T agree with that!

"but with extreme beauty, good intellect and sexiness then that's a whole different level to overcome" Then you should marry a sexy, smart, beautiful woman in the first place, dumbass!

    • Still won't work and don't disrespect me. I never disrespected you.

    • @hispanic-cool-guy It wasn't directed towards you personally, bro. It was a general comment.

    • "It's super to say no because you never had physically beautiful women with pleasant personalities desire you." Um, I have, actually.

  • When your love life gets stale, sometimes they want to find someone to excite them.

    • Everything gets stale in life. Adultery is wrong, I just hate when people don't like to admit the truth about desiring to cheat. 😏

    • No, everything does NOT get stale! It only gets stale if you don't put in the effort.

  • No i do not

    • Cheating is as natural as murder.

  • No not at all
