So I take sabbatical’s from any sexual interaction including sexual interactions with myself. One of my sabbatical’s went two years. I would argue it takes about 5 weeks to really get over the urge, but after that it starts becoming much more manageable.

The good and the bad of it. starting off with the bad. The first weeks are like hell Literally anything involving the the human body is going to turn you on as a guy and or a girl if it is referencing your sexual preference.
Why is that; because the body is going through a type of withdrawal from the regular chemical releases of dopamine and adrenaline that is created from your nervous system responding to sexual stimulus. Sexual

All that being said would I ever go two years again sure if I felt it was needed in some way. Why did I do it to begin with; because I moved to an area where there were many attractive women, and I didn’t want to sexualize them rather than getting to know them as people.

For me that’s the good of doing so, and to be honest I would argue that it was actually a very rewarding experience in the end, but odds are fair that I will never go that long again. However I do take breaks from sex for a few months every now and then.

3 months, Marine Corps boot camp doesn't exactly set the mood or condition where jerking off is optimal. Also I'm pretty sure they put salt peter in the food. I mean, they encouraged us to get a load out before we hit the rifle range to be nice and relaxed, but the idea is ludicrous with 80 guys, like 6 toilets, and no doors on them.

It's also probably why you get a week or longer to go home and... get right... for any further training or deployments that might come up.
