  • Maybe I don't understand the meaning of exotic. Most of the people in the photos look normal to me, except the hipster with the big beard makes me want to vomit.

I never thought of myself as exotic. But when I think about it, from about age 20 to 26, I guess was by virtue of being young, fit, and having really long, distinctive hair. I thought I was a really bitchen rock guitarist. I also surfed, spent a good deal of time at the beach, and tanned well. I was pretty brown.

I didn't mind being easily accepted and popular. And I certainly didn't mind the attention of young women, no matter their reasons. It's kinda nice to stand out.

    • Yeah I didn't exactly do a great job on the photos. I was trying to choose people who look like they had a particular look or ethnic background that was distinct, but mostly what I have saved in my library of files is a bunch of beautiful photography and people. When I Google Image search things, the same type of search results typically come up (almost all white, for ex.) I just wanted to post and not spend any more time on photo selection this time. Anyway, everyone is exotic to some. Maybe it's to locals, because of some defining characteristics they have. But I was more thinking about to those far away in or from another country, etc. The internet has really expanded communication. But in my city we have a lot of travellers too. It's a highly-desired location so there's a decent amount of diversity here. I find the idea of a person 'in a foreign land', as they say; someone who left their homeland for better opportunities or whatever it is, and they do stand out amongst the locals. Also people with mixed background/heritage. I find them very interesting. Keanu Reeves, for ex., has a lot of genetic diversity in him. He's known for being hard to place. Some people may feel a bit like a novelty, even a sexual kink to some (like the stats and stereotype of Asian girl porn, apparently popular worldwide.) And when that person talks to people, they can often get asked the same types of questions, which are the most rudimentary or obvious aspects of what made it overseas. Sometimes that's offensive. But sometimes it's just like, 'Wow, is that all you know about my country?"

    • At the root of my question is if any of that bothers people. Someone could be genuinely intrigued, or attracted to someone for their differences, which make them more unique compared to the masses of any particular geographical location. (In my case, I find some more interesting, worldly, as such diverse-topic conversations are possible, for ex. They are not necessarily indoctrinated into the culture. I like that objectivity and observations.) But on the other end, they could also be a [sexual] novelty, based heavily on cliché stereotypes. I don't have a strong opinion about this at all. I often ask questions where I have mixed feelings or am ambivalent about something. Was just curious how others feel.

    • It's absolutely true that "exotic" is relative. I had a friend who went to Japan to teach English while he studied for his psychology degree. He's tall and blond and said he stood out like a sore thumb. He attracted attention wherever he went and it sounded like he was quite popular with the ladies. I just reminded myself of the way Pacific Islanders were completely taken with the degenerate, diseased European sailors who first arrived at their shores. Here in the U. S., there's so much diversity that I don't really think about appearance much. I do notice cultural diversity and generally think it's great. I love accents and "foreign" food. We have people from all over the world and there is even a lot of cultural difference between "white" people from various regions of the country. I don't have any fetishes for "exotic" women (for example, you mentioned the attraction to oriental girls on porn). I have to admit a preference for European features - pale skin and light-colored hair. But there are lovely women all over the world. I think cultures around the world are fascinating and charming, even if I would have a hard time adapting to them. They are as wonderful as bio-diversity. You mentioned something else. It's a mistake to make assumptions about people. Someone from a different race or culture can be provincial or very informed and cosmopolitan. You never know. Again, we are indoctrinated with stereotypes. My first experience with that was with my first guitar teacher. I was eleven and it was during the time of the civil rights movement and the Watts riots. My dad was a top machinist for the aerospace program. As it turned out, the guy who volunteered to come and teach me was an engineer with the same company. He was tall, slender, soft spoken, and far more erudite and worldly than my parents. He was African American, the first I had ever met. From that point on, I rejected racism and stereotypes.

  • I never cared why.
I just wanted to be wanted by someone.. eventually I had enough self-respect to narrow my search to quality people... my wife had always loved reading of vikings growing up so when see saw me... she was hooked.

  • As a natural blonde, this is a double edged sword. I don’t mind if someone has a preference but men’s willingness to ask the color of my pubic hair has been downright creepy many times in my life.

    • Wow! That is so bad.

  • I don't think anyone would consider me "exotic"so don't think I have to worry about that 😂

    • Exotic just means that you're from a different country, far away, different appearance. You're exotic to some people who didn't grow up around women like you.

  • I wouldn't mind that. I would see no problem with it.

  • I like it, I'll take any advantage I can get.
I definitely feel and understand the attraction towards exotic women.

  • It's two sides... But to be fair when I see this

I also see the picture above. I think women like the peacock bring in men by physical attaction. And while women are attracted to men, I'd argue it's not as strong as men's attraction is to a woman's shape and body.

    Now, I personally love this!

Cute and causal! You get to know them for who they are! And it's clearly fun too! But I think it's that first hook for guys... Seeing the attractive body and then getting to know them after.

I think though, romance and physical attaction needs to take a backseat before marriage because so many marriages end based on not fully knowing their non romantic partner until after they are married

  • i dont know i guess its whatever kind of sus

  • Don't care

  • I would think I like to feel exotic not too sure?

  • I logically don't really mind if others have a certain kink regardless of another group because I ain't going to be a hypocrite I do it too sometimes but I definitely find it a insult if you actually treat people of the exact same group who you are fetishizing as subhuman with no basic human decency and actual respect.

Of course coming from a black man I already know there are people who do have a black men fetish I logically don't really have any problems with the idea but I do get annoyed if us actual black men doesn't get treated fair from people.

  • This is a really interesting question. As I often find myself attracted to women I consider exotic. But I also feel completely comfortable with being considered exotic in return

  • Eh, I'm cool with it. Nbd.
