Virgin-shaming is so common in this overly-sexual society we live in. Myself, I’ve experienced it myself when my female friends told me I should have fun in my college years and “find what’s the best for you”. Oh, and “experienced guys are less creepy” apparently.

My former friend in university lost hers to a guy (she’s Nigerian born in Canada and he’s Vietnamese) and I always thought they were better as friends because he was a total player (he was even flirting with me when I hung out with them). Well, he cheated on her and she became “asexual”. I don’t know if she was traumatized or experienced deep regret, but that further supporter my decision to wait until marriage.

I do think guys are shamed much more for it. My former male friend (he’s 22) lost his virginity to a 35 yr old woman, and I just felt deep sadness for him because it wasn’t even special. He even told me how we always wanted a nice girlfriend but yeah, I guess his dick came first. They were drunk and she started kissing him. He even told me her “face was like aged milk but her body was like fine wine” lol. I’ve seen movies like American Pie and the 40-Year-Old Virgin and it’s unfortunate how the virgin characters think. That they’re not good enough.

Anyways, I wouldn’t be able to have pre-marital sex and I came up with this conclusion without the help of religion! Though my family is conservative so I guess that helps, but I had many opportunities to lose it. I wouldn’t be able to deal with the heartbreak if the guy left me after I did it with him. I’m not that strong in that way even though I can be strong-minded.

My ex was not a virgin and I was and I think it made us not be as close. If someone can wait until they get married and be able to give that to each other, it is a huge special bonding moment that can help increase the chances of the marriage lasting.

Ever wondered why people like my grand parents got married at 15 and 16 and were married for nearly 70 years? they used to say it was cause they were each others first.

Ever wondered if that is why divorce is rather high now, cause people don't start their marriage with that bond. Not saying it will fail, just that gives it a boost.

Be careful what you wish for. Marrying a virgin is VERY different from "being with a virgin" or being her first outside of marriage. I had sex with a virgin whom I was head over heels for, and waited till she asked to do it. I'd have stayed with her as long as she wanted me. Not only was it a rough experience for us both, turns out she didn't love me like I did her, and eventually she broke up with me. I never wanted to be with a virgin again after that !

First of all, I don't virgin sham.

Second, I hate car sales analogy because we're persons, not objects.

But I encourage everyone to live a "sex-filled lifestyle" (for at least 6 months with a lover) because I had experienced it and it's good.

I don't encourage marriage because it has too much drama and statistically the first two marriages are bound to fail within five years.

This lead to my conclusion of not saving virginity because some LTR lasts longer than marriages and are much happier.

i don't know how to tell, i think people used to use the absence of a hymen as an indication. but that is not correct, as it can break during horse riding or excercising. as far as i know there is no way to know for certain, i would just take their word for it if a girl i dated mentioned they were a virgin lol, providing they lived a conservative lifestyle. its not so important to me personaly though. i think you can get a good idea of how many guys a girl has been with just from her lifestyle. I used to be of the same mindset, that everything should be perfect and only with the person I "loved". Then it hit me that people fall in and out of love too easily. I did it while I was blackout drunk and really didn't have a say in the matter despite my inhibitions and realized the next morning that it really isn't that big of a deal, Don't get me wrong, I freaked out, but later, after time to think, I realized was putting so much pressure on myself for no reason.
