Are straight women usually disgusted by penises?

Asking for a friend... the woman finds guys attractive. She’s romantically attracted to them too but doesn’t necessarily have the urge to have sex with them. She’s never blown a guy and finds dicks disgusting, she’s in her mid twenties. Is she just asexual? I think it’s because she hasn’t found the right guy... she also finds women attractive. Maybe a little bicurious... but yeah she doesn’t masturbate or feel the urge to have sex either... okay I’ll stop.

  • That is a bit peculiar. To be sure, women overall are sexually motivated by context. Hence the old saying, "For a woman, there is no sex until there is love. For a man, it is not love until there is sex." It is less about the visuals, so to speak.

However, in fact, a penis usually is NOT a turn-off for a woman. This being for evolutionary reasons.

For man's early primate ancestors, the male displayed his penis as a way of attracting females. To the male, large breasts and wide hips on the woman were an indicator that she could bear health offspring. For the female, a male's erect penis was an indication that he had healthy sperm and could sire healthy offspring - as well as ward off rival males and predators to protect mom and baby.

In fact, some years back a study was done - by Kinsey I think it was, though I may be mistaken as I am writing this from memory - in which women were shown photos of naked men. Some had erections, others not. The women were then asked who were the more attractive men.

It was not even remotely close. The men with erections won by a mile. The study theorizing that the women were having an unconscious evolutionary reaction to the men's erections. In nature, to repeat, the man displaying in order to attract fertile healthy females.

Women, again, are not visual but contextual creatures. In evolutionary terms, because carrying and nursing offspring required an enormous expenditure of time and energy, the female needed a male who could - as noted - find food for mom and baby as well as ward off rival males and predators. The male, by contrast, was seeking to impregnate and thereby pass on his sperm to as many females as possible.

Thus for the female, the context - can the male care for me and my baby? For the male the object is simpler - sex with a fertile healthy female. (It actually gets a bit more complicated in that, after a female is impregnated. her body experiences chemical changes that the male body detects. This depresses his testosterone, reducing his sex drive and causing him to bond with the female and later her baby.)

Anyhow, that is the evolutionary biological basics. Of course, we have evolved beyond that and all sorts of variables and individual quirks come into play that - in the law of the jungle -- were not there before.

Still, to find a woman who is disgusted by the male penis is statistically unusual. Not impossible - obviously - but certainly, in terms of the evolutionary imperatives, she would not likely be able to pass on her genes. This going against both basic biology and her normal survival instincts.

Suffice to say, even among modern men and women, you are not apt to find that very often. Were it to become common, it is only slightly hyperbolic to say that you would have your first glimpse of the end of the human species.

  • She finds guys attractive? but won't give oral? that is normal not all women will. If she likes women too.. than ya she is maybe a little bi-curious.. and the masturbation part... some women don't and most do... I personally think it depends on the women... I have met women that said " they never enjoyed sex" which in my opinion is that they never had sex with the right person.. each women is different.. and by the " penises" there are different types like women and their vagina.. We come in long... small... wide.. thick... circumsised and uncircumcised... depends what the person likes

  • I wouldn't say we're disgusted with penises. We just don't find them particularly visually attractive. However, we do love it when a man knows how to use his penis right when he's inside us. That has little to do with the physical appearance of the penis though

  • no, that is not usual.. but maybe it is just that she is not very into the men she was sexual with. Was she ever in love?

  • yes disgusted unless its going to be with someone they want, just seeing one doesn't do a thing for me

  • She definitely sounds asexual.

  • Maybe she Lesbian,

  • She is asexual.. But believe in love and romance...
Basically up for everything except sex...

  • No they love it

  • Yes my friend is like this too when I showed her mine.

  • I'm not disgusted, but I too am bicurious. I'm very comfortable seeing Dick. My brothers and father always walked around butt naked when changing or something.

  • Well first of all, studies have shown that almost all women find other women sexually attractive, so that means any woman with any sexuality is either bisexual or lesbian.

That said, I think it's not uncommon for women to find penises ugly unless they belong to a man they are attracted to. Same is true of men and vaginas. I find most vaginas pretty ugly, but I like fucking them and think my wife's is rather attractive, but most pictures of vaginas are kind of nasty.

Let's face it, both male and female sex organs are objectively ugly, but love can change that for individuals. It's kind of the same principle as "the face that only a mother can love". She loves the face because she loves the child, not because the face us attractive. All vaginas and penises are objectively ugly.

  • Nah I think they’re sexy

  • That doesn’t fit my experience of straight women, but it does sound like someone who is either asexual or demisexual. Demisexual describes people who don’t feel sexual attraction unless they’re in a pair-bonded relationship.

  • She is female gay
