I'd recommend against getting into the habit of using tape, if your sinuses get blocked you have no way to breathe and limited ways and time to communicate that, you know, you're suffocating.

It's kind of like zip ties on the wrist, sure, it's a whole hell of a lot easier, but the risks and responsibility go up.

Just tie a knot in some rope, knot again next to it, knot those two together, and you have a make-shift gag. You can still breathe with it and make some noise, it also gives the illusion of hope. Hope that you'll be able to kiss, get your tongue out, be free by any means other than being untied. Dangling that in front of your subject can increase the tease a hell of a lot and drop them into subspace like snapping your fingers rather than dragging them kicking and screaming.

That's just me though, whenever possible mix equal parts pain, apprehension, and the illusion that if you just try a little harder you can get what you're being teased with.

Duct tape is too messy with the glue that it uses, plus I think it's a bit dangerous to use something so impermeable. I get the kink of some bondage with maybe a little hostage or kidnapping flavor to it, I just think there are safer ways to go about it, like with a simple fabric, bar, or other gag.

If she really has a preference for duct tape, I don't really have anything against it aside from safety concerns around the airway. I just think there are cleaner, sexier/more fashionable, and safer alternatives. Not to mention better for keeping oral play options "open".

NEVER use duct tape on bare skin. Anyway tape gags don't work unless you stuff the mouth first, and that's very dangerous. Nothing will prevent sound. The best you can do is prevent coherent speech by depressing the tongue. A silicone cock gag works pretty well.
