  • I don't even have to think about that. Yeah, things make you feel upset, triggered, whatever. Even altruism is a selfish action. You just have to be cool about it, figure out where the part that hurts you can be turned around, and how you can motivate someone to make that happen. That change for the negative is only happening from someone else reacting to some external pressure to prevent their own pain, misfortune, inconvenience, whatever.

Find that fulcrum, apply a lever, and turn it into an advantageous or at least neutral situation. Things upset me, and I do something about it. Generally since my response to negative things is hate and discontent I want more than what I started with "because they dared" Honestly without negative things to make me feel upset, I'd probably be too lazy and unmotivated to do too much... That or hire myself out for merc work out of boredom.

  • Maybe 1 to 5%. The two things that upset me the most are people being assholes and/or stupid, and when sh*t doesn't work how it's supposed to; specifically software or website glitches, or when video games' AI cheats. This site has some sh*tty-ass HTML itself to where you can't even f*cking space-break without a letter in front of it. Few things upset me that "were better off for me." One could argue me being too short to be attractive to modern women (that I'd like/be attracted back to) is for my own best interests, as I'm likely far better off without a third wheel, anyway. But being single-for-life still does piss me off sometimes though, cause it's mostly out of my hands and I had no choice in what height I ended up, what ethnicity I am, or how my face looks.

  • Family came into town when I was heavy into my semester, got super behind because of it. Bombed 2 tests and a quiz, because of it. One of the exams was on my birthday. Teacher caught me copying homework and gave me a 0 for the assignment, now if I don’t get at least a 60 on the final project I’ll fail the class. The assignment is on matlab and it’s really fucking hard. I have no clue how to do it and I’ve been crying every day over this shit. Fml. None of this seems good but maybe it’s a sign I need to change majors.

  • I believe that upset is more about OUTRAGE when someone steps on you and doesn't care, however you cannot control what other people do, nor cause them to care.

So, in essence, it is usually useless to get upset. Unless you can safely confront someone then and there, nothing will happen to help you vent and feel better, so it's best to steam for a little while and be logical about it:

It's mostly useless for you to rage at the machine! Take a deep breath and get on with it.

  • I can't think of anything off the top of my head that except for the time I broke up with my boyfriend of 3 years. I was extremely depressed and paranoid around him because he was emotionally abusive and a serial cheater with a bad temper. I started gaining weight and became suicidal once he left me on my birthday to pursue a relationship with another woman (who he also cheated on). Ever since I left him, I've thrived and I don't regret anything. That's at least one thing that made me upset, but ultimately benefitted me.

  • 3 out of 5.

  • I was upset that Raphael Warnock won the election. (I wasn't upset that Loeffler lost; just that Warnock won. I think they both are trash.)
But I ended up getting $1400.
