I'm kinda like you, Des. After all, we just got done "cuddling". Now I'm hot and want to relax. And it's hard to relax when I am confined by wrapping her in my arms. I'd rather lie on my back and catch my breath. I'll cuddle her when I'm awake. But I don't mind her throwing her leg over me and resting her hand on my chest and her cheek on my shoulder if she wants to. That's not suffocating. And it tells me that she is content and satisfied.
