Japanese man has been arrested after reportedly dating more than 35 women at the same time.

Takashi Miyagawa, a part-time worker, is being investigated for allegedly defrauding dozens of women by pretending he was serious about each of their relationships and receiving hundreds of pounds worth of gifts from them.

He was apparently caught out when the women joined forces to create a victims’ association after discovering his extensive infidelity and reported him to the police, according to local media.

Among the claims is that he gave each woman a different date for his birthday, ensuring a constant stream of gifts throughout the year.

One 47-year-old woman reportedly thought his birthday was on February 22, another aged 40 was told it was July, while another 35-year-old believed his birthday was in April.

In total, he allegedly received around 100,000 yen (£668) worth of gifts from the women, including a £200 suit.

That last one really had me suckered good. Three years and I had no clue. That was an expensive rock and it took me a month to make the ring. I suppose it would have been more expensive had she said yes. I haven't dated since and that was about 10 years ago.

The problem isn't in DATING multiple women (that IS how you evaluate whom you would marry). The problem here is that he was SCAMMING multiple women at the same time with his scheme of FRAUD!

What this guy did constitutes fraud, but our court system is EXTREMELY reluctant to het involved in legal cases based on failed dating relationships. We abolished cases for breach of promise more than 100 years ago.

Please! Any time someone invests in something, such as a Ponzi scheme, it is willingly and with the intent of making money on it - or in this case trying for marriage out of it. Seems pretty much the results are the same - someone being taken to town from it.

I date to find someone to marry. I wish that the authorities would crack down on these dating scammers; I would say 99.5% of the people who I have chatted with online are scammers.
