The ideal relationship is formed by individuals who choose to prioritize being both student and teacher. Choosing one or the other creates an imbalance that leads to bitterness and resentment. Healthy partners eagerly reach out to understand their partner, their partner's priorities and how things impact that person. They also clearly share an understanding of who they are, what their priorities are and how things impact them. It's not about telling the other what should or shouldn't be done, but what we've discovered tends to work best for us. If either person isn't eager to learn and teach, you'll never have a relationship worth having.

I just do my best to consider how choices might impact all involved and then share what I am seeing. My answers won't work for all, but, hopefully, they will help people expand on their perspective so they can see more options. I just want people to think for themselves (viewing the whole picture rather than just their limited tunnel vision) rather than just blindly believe whatever others say, including myself. I’m always going to come down on the side of the student… The teacher is not only an adult, they are in a position of power over the student. Any relationship involving a student and a teacher, even in college is WRONG! The power dynamic automatically puts the teacher/professor in a position of control over the student, as in the possibility that if the student does not do EXACTLY what the teacher wants, it could result in retribution on the student. THAT makes it de facto abusive.

I've always been advanced. I grew up around adults as a child and noticed that good sex could out way a lot of bad things in relationships. So I began reading everything about sex, the female anatomy and the female orgasm when I was seven. Even my first sexual partner at 15 was 24 and once I got a feel for her body, I ended up doing the teaching. I love teaching so that's never been an issue but, it always leads to questions.

I think I'd be less comfortable with being the leaner, if I was very aware of it, feeling inadequate or that sort of thing.
