Literally one of the main reasons to be poly is so that you don't have to be everything for someone. In other words, the dynamics at play in the monogamous relationship are why they are so meaningful and replete with affection. You won't find the same level of emotional intensity at play in the polyamorous relationship very often for obvious reasons.
