Will a bra keep your boobies from sagging?

There has been a lot of discussion about sagging boobs and if a bra will keep them from sagging. There are some that say yes, and some that say no. If you go without a supporting bra for extended periods of time, and you have larger boobs, then eventually your breast tissue will stretch and they will sag. The same thing happens to women who have breast fed. Their boobs get full of milk and the boobs stretch, and after breastfeed is done and over with they will sag. How much depends on how big your boobs were. Also genetics play a part, along with boob size, breastfeeding, and not having support. There is no reason medically that girls with small boobs need to wear a bra as they usually do not need the support as large boobs do. My aunt had small boobs and they were still perky at 60. If you want to be free and let them hang and it makes you feel good you can certainly do that. Women's breasts naturally sag with age, bra or not, depending on size so be free my little melons.

  • While you are wearing it sure. But take off the bra and they will sage as much as they did before. But a bra will also reduce future sagging somewhat so you should probably try to wear one as much as you can when vertical. If you have a partner with gentle hands then you could have them walk around behind you holding them up for you when not in public (or in public if you are good at being sneaky)

    • And I suppose to help prop her up you sill give her something to sit on, right?

    • Well I suppose my face is always available for that and yes I can reach that high.

  • I heard not wearing bras will strengthen your breasts and prevent sagging.

    • The breasts have no muscles in them so I don't see how they could be strengthened. They have to obey the laws of gravity. Your underlying muscles will help but you have to exercise some.

    • Under the breast is the pectoral muscle. You strengthen those you also strengthen the connective tissue that binds the muscle to the fatty tissue of the breast.

    • Yes, any weightlifting exercises that strengthen the pecs lift the breasts. Wearing good bras prevent the skin from stretching from the weight of milk laden and heavy breasts. Some women with giant breasts get breast reductions. Others do so because of extreme sagging due to genetics. Big breasts can look great when you're 20. But, pregnancy will wreak havoc on them the bigger they are. Long periods of breastfeeding will also. All you can do is all you can do!

  • My problem is that I was overweight in high school so my boobs were also big. When I lost a lot of weight my boobs also went down. On your body you skin will shrink when you lose weight, but some parts don't seem to shrink except for the fat so you are left with slightly saggy boobs. That's just nature and weight loss. But I do wear a bra most of the time except for sleeping and maybe camping.

  • Not wearing a bra can help keep them up for longer. Wearing a bra means the muscles aren't getting used.

But gravity is a bitch, everyone will sag eventually.

    • Your muscles are used whether you wear a bra or not. Every time you life something or raise your arms over your head you are using your muscles.

    • Mm not the right muscles. There are exercises you can to to strengthen your pectoralis but just every day lifting isn't going to prevent sagging.

  • Unfortunately there isn’t a definitive answer on that. Conflicting schools of thought make the case either way. Personally, I’m not sure there is anything you can do to prevent sagging. The connective tissue is made of collagen, which stretches naturally with age. Sagging is probably inevitable whether you wear a bra or not.

  • That second pic nothing short of a construction crane is going to keep them from sagging and the whole truth is that for most all of us females as we age and again depending on what our boobs are like they are going to move south.

  • Love the body positivity 🥳

  • Maybe it will...
    Freedom for meloooooooonnnsss😄

  • No I've heard that wearing a bra makes the muscles weak and more likely to sag. If you want to strengthen them then go without a bra

    • Your muscles get weak if you don't use them, just like in a guy. Girls who exercise a lot usually have less saggy boobs,

    • I'm pretty sure that's wrong. Itd be like constantly wearing a arm sling then expecting your arm to be strong when you haven't worked it out

    • But you do sort of work out with every movement you make, unlike an arm in a sling. And your boobs bounce up and down too. With every bounce they place strain on your skin which will stretch over time. You will get stretch marks on your boobs too. But to be fair, girls can get stretch marks from just growing too and is normal. But it's no good when you give nature help in that department.

  • Meh.
As you said it depends. Probably on genetics as well.
I've always had perky breasts and I'm small chested. I rarely wear a bra.
I know people with small breasts that are saggy as well though 🤷‍♀️

    • Did they breast feed? But you are right, I have seen girls in their early 20's with small boobs and they look saggy when wearing a bikini. Genetics sucks at times.

    • No, lol. This was in like high school and college. The ones in talking about weren't mind yet. & yup

  • Everything sags eventually

  • Nope. Gravity will always prevail. Unless you have small boobs. This is why I think it’s not all that bad to have small boobs. As women age they will sag but if you have small perky boobs they will still look good. So ladies be happy with your small breasts.

  • Its supposed to slow the rate off it but I'm pretty sure they will sag in the end

  • I wear a sports bra to bed, and yes I believe so

  • No. Wearing a bra weakens your muscles which will make you sag sooner.

  • The muscle and tissues nature developed to support your breasts doesn't get a chance to develop in Western dress. If you always wear a support bra and then try to stop, your boobs will sag. If you don't want that, then you don't wear one and let the tissue develop naturally. There are some very big busted women in tribes in Africa and South America whose boobs don't sag despite never having seen a bra and having had several kids.

  • As far as I'm aware sagging is a natural effect of life. Skin and muscle age and can't always hold what they used to. Bra or not sagging is natural

    • As I said in my thread.

    • Pretty much

  • Some studies suggest that wearing a bra can actually increase sagging because it weakens the muscles in your chest.

    • How does it weaken them? Maybe if you are a couch potato but ordinary walking and movement when being active give you some exercise.

    • I'm not really sure how it works. Tgey mentioned the study in this article

  • They just don't make good support bras these days. But, life will happen... Lift weights. 3 to 5 lbs. Small weights. It helps.

  • I always heard people saying that that's why I never leave the house without a bra.

  • Negative no only a lift. time and gravity show mercy to nobooby i mean nobooby

  • Nope, nothing will stop it from happening

  • Thought that was the purpose

  • I 100% believe that they are supportive think
