I saw it first hand with my brother and cousins. Double standard. The females in the family could date without someone having something to say or block? Don't have no boy calling your house. My dad didn't play that. My brother had little girlfriends. Girls calling, etc. I broke out of the double standard when I hit my senior year in high school. I've been dancing to the beat of my own drum every since.

Most men and I suspect due to jealousy, tbh. I have met a few moms who were happy I was with their young daughters, so moms are more accepting of sex for their Kids.

I think parents are more protective of daughters. On one hand, naive girls can get pregnant. But people also have a thing about preserving their little princesses' virginity.

I think most people would more likely overreact with a daughter regardless of gender than a son since there is a historical stereotype that women are graceful so if a girl does something "wrong" she's probably more likely to get scolded than a guy and also parents are extremely notorious about who their daughter dates in contrast to guys most of the time.

Simple girls are always cared about more n that department. We praise boys for getting laid because we expect it. Men of course don't want their little girl having sex, especially with an older man. And women don't want an older man taking advantage if their daughter. It's a prejudice most people have for girls
