If they have had a bad experience, it's a bit hard pressed to convince them to go again. The pain is pretty unbearable, especially in an orifice that traditionally things are getting pushed out of, rather than into, if you don't prepare your partner &/or use enough lube. If they have a preconceived notion on it, it is best to "argue" with facts & previous experience (s). My go to for people who haven't tried a certain activity before is "How do you know you don't like it until you try it? If you don't like it, we will never do it again."
But everyone is different. Don't push people who aren't ready & certainly don't try the "it slipped" excuse. Consent is everything & every party being comfortable & satisfied is the name of the game.

Why would you have interest in it to begin with?
