I think maybe she has a point, but then again, that's the work you choose to do as an exotic dancer (clothes always on), stripper (dancer who goes nude), escort, cam girl, pin-up model, exotic model, or 'OnlyFans whore.'
I think it's better if prostitution of any kind continues to have a negative connotation in our language and culture. It's informal social control and one way to keep people, especially the youth, in line. To force more people into making better life decisions even if working towards those goals is hard and depressing at times, and also to force parents to take better care of their children.
Is it ever enough? No, absolutely not. Why? Because our civilization and social construsts are not exactly "natural" and direct exchange of goods/money for sex minus children is too convenient for women and men not to return back to. We had it and we probably will have to deal with it, but it needs to stay negative so relationships that are based on exchange of love, attention, time, and experiences and in which resources are shared with a focus on children's health, stay favored.

"but it needs to stay negative so relationships that are based on exchange of love, attention, time, and experiences and in which resources are shared with a focus on children's health, stay favored."
It's like Borat said "nobody believes that".
@joeblow123 I agree functional relationships don't exist in many people's lives. Or maybe "most" is more accurate. It's a good coping mechanism to simply stop believing in something you never had and know you probably never have.
I think there is a negative view socially on sex workers, but that is mostly because the majority of citizens here are uneducated religious people.
Not really. If I dressed like I was homeless, acted like I was homeless, and repeatedly stated I was homeless. . . would you treat me as if I wasn't? Thats the problem here, they actively cultivate this hyper sexualized version of themselves then get upset that people respond to that hypersexualized version of themselves. If they don't like it. . . don't do it? Seems pretty straightforward to me. They knew what they where getting into, they thought it was worth it because of the easy money (that is the only reason why they do this by the way, they could get a job just like every other person in the world but they found this was a lot easier so that is why they chose this path), you don't get to then turn around and complain that they are being treated as if they have done nohthing but exploit their sexuality for profit.
To be fair, my friend says it's more about how men love porn stars and the such, but treat them poorly. I don't watch porn and I don't slut shame (unless you count OnkyFans trash, but they're not sex workers), but at the same time, they're not "brave and stunning heroes" either. I personally don't care, as long as someone is putting in an honest day's work and not hurting anybody, they're fine by me. But she just thinks men (and women) would have more respect for them, since so many people love porn. I can't fail to see how they aren't all that respected, though (by the men who watch porn religiously like that).
Well sure but they don't actually love pornstars, they like easy sex but that doesn't mean they respect them. We don't ever respect that which comes easy (in fact ironically this applies to everything, they found free games where given lower ratings then the same game when it was bought for a dollar. Investment and work makes us value it more. Sex workers don't give us an investment and thus we cannot value it). That said men will never value a sex workers. Its the whole argument of her giving it up for free (relatively speaking) only to turn around and make HIM work for it. Sex worker is an extension of the promiscuous woman, she may have been economically wiser then her promiscous non sex worker counter part but its ultimately the same thing.
But again, the issue is you present yourself as a sex object, you actively cultivate that, so people are going to treat you as such and no one respects an object. Obviously I'm not suggesting people should mistreat anyone nor am I suggesting that some one not be allowed to live their life in peace or should be forced to live with a mistake for the rest of their life, but this is the reality of the situation, they put themselves their and now want to pretend everything they have done didn't happen they just want to keep the money and that is simply not how it works.
Sex workers for fun is a thing, such as what ProjectMelody has been doing before becoming a rather wholesome YouTuber. Other skanks that do that because doing actual work is too tiresome or could damage their nails well, those are pathetic.
At the very least they recognized the fact that their best asset is what they sit with.
I never really watched her, but ProjectMelody got boring REAL quick. I think Code Miko replaced her, and she's actually funny in some moments, but she also makes too much content and it gets over-saturated after a few weeks. V-Tubers aren't the same as E-thots, because they actually have to do something entertaining and avatars aren't exactly all that sexy. I've only seen both on YouTube anyway, as I don't go anywhere near Twitch.
Generally speaking, Vtubers are really wholesome or goofily funny, such as Ironmouse or Veibae.
If you watch any of the Hololive girls, they are just adorable, extremely feminine and completely kid-safe.
I think that Japan found a way to create even more mascots to better educate their youths.

The feminists and the religious crowd treat the sex workers like children. That is due to the fact that the feminists and the religious crowd are also into pedophilia.
It probably should be something she should have looked into before getting into that business. It must suck, getting judged over and over. In the end they're just people like us trying to earn to look after themselves or the family.
People who patronize sex workers are looked down upon more than sex workers.
I don't look down on either and don't care what people do in private as consenting adults.
Yeah if only men didn’t pay for sex work then they wouldn’t have to exist
I would never do it myself but I do feel they get a bad press
