The list goes on...
I wish G@G would stop trying to put words and typos in my mouth. Anyone else?
G@G needs to stop doing auto-ANYTHING.
Many an uneditable post that I have written have been all fucked up by their auto-incorrecting.
For instance, their auto-emoji-ing...
Here is a C and then a : with no space in between. Let's see what happens...
C:
And there you have it...
I wanted a C followed by a :
I didn't want a fucking emoji / emoticon.
If I wanted one, then I would have added one with my keyboard or character selector.
This place - and lots of other software coders now too - violate the First Rule of Coding:
>>> Do nothing unless the user unambiguously asks it to be done.
Agree... for example it changes by the way to "by the way."
The site shouldn't change your words.
It changes b f to boyfriend (when i actually meant breastfeeding!), g f to girlfriend, f w b to friends with benefits, i m o to in my opinion.
I'd say it was most likely the brilliant idea of one of their programmers who wrote the site code. The intention was probably good... they probably wanted to make the abbreviations easier for people to understand if they didn't know what they mean. But it changes the character of what you write. In my opinion it would be better if they removed that feature.
@loves2learn it sounds like there are no short cuts in GAG... Just have to spell it out for everyone lol ;)

What's Your Opinion? Sign Up Now!I have a friend who got a message from an Asian lady on plenty of fish, and it was obvious that English was not her first language. She wanted to ask about his job or retirement status. Autocorrect stepped in. "Are you working now or are you retarded?". He was kind and ignored the obvious typo. Apparently she didn't realize what she had said because her next reply was "I worked at a hotel, but now I'm retarded, too!"
I have the screen shots to prove this actually happened.
Really? You think so? I find that the voice recognition is really like so so so so good. I do a lot of like voice typing on this and I was just like wow this is like a really awesome. I generally I'm so useless when it comes to using my keyboard I think people might know me but my typos seriously.
I only had the correct one thing on this thing that I used with voice typing.
Lol lmao yours sex no mine sucks have you ever tried to read anything that I've ever written do you even know what it says it's perfect before I click Send but once I could send it says everything but when I said it seems like I was going to show you on this one but look at it's all coming out good now that really sucks
Okay the top one is what I said first and I was going to show you how bad it sucked but for some reason it's working good right now oh my gosh
Well when you can actually understand what I'm saying I think they're pretty good but when I push send and then re-read it and only half of my words that I've said we're in there where the other half came from I don't know but it happens every time. Okay so I just proof read this one everything's good let me push send and see where it goes
Isn't that your phone deciding, and nothing to do with gag?
Whenever I write in gag I'm using the web version on my PC, not the app. I need a full keyboard or fuhgedaboudit.
Autocorrect helps me because I'm a lousy mobile typer. But it's excruciatingly slow so I only read within the app sometimes, mostly just focus on my pms.
It is my phone settings it turns out. But its worse on gag than anywhere else. I shut off spell check.
It is ridiculous, I can't just type something and trust that it will be correct.
I always need to go back and fix it or it will post that way.
Now I'll try to type that fast and see what happens.
It's rewarding, I can'tallow just fuck something and rust that itself be direct. I always weed toboggan back and forth it or it will posters that say.
Yes, it happens to me a lot.
Sometimes it will just take a word out of a sentence like there's a glitch when I hit the space bar or something.
Lots of my sentences are missing words. 😅
So annoying! Missing words and words that autocorrect when you are way past them.
I noticed this too! I completely miss the words it auto corrects until after I put it out there.. I'm always like wth, that doesn't even make sense.. And the word prediction is also ridiculous lol! I just thought my phone hated GaG🤷♀️
I turned off my autocorrect. Now I make a lot of spelling errors, but no more changing my words. Lol
Ahh. I’ve noticed the same thing. From what I can guess, GaG is not based in the US so the default keyboard/dictionary is either Dutch or German, which isn’t completely different from English in the sense that we do share some words with both languages that have different meanings.
Also, I’m glad you posted this in the Sexuality section or I would’ve missed it completely. 😂
Uh oh. Your postings were too sexy I bet. I’ve never even tried posting in other categories. I’m probably banned from everything else too. 😂
There are words that banish to the sexuality category. I must use them every time. Lol
Actually, G@G is based in the US. In Saint Louis Missouri.
It was FOUNDED by a Turkish immigrant which is why there is a Turkish version of G@G and there are so many Turks here.

@abc3643 Interesting. I did a trace on their IP a while back and the servers were in the Netherlands but that was before the article in 2017.
@Mangospacho the article says they have 7 offices around the world in different time zones.
@loves2learn Oh yeah, it’s randomly assigned to the fastest server anyway but now I’m back to square one with the whole autocorrect issue.
Ooh. That’s a good point. I might try that too. One of my kids was probably typing gibberish on my phone and added a bunch of nonsense words that it’s automatically correcting to
@Mangospacho. Kids! My phone started autocapitalizing my younger sons name. It knows he's a trouble maker.
DID G@G ADMINS REMOVE MY POST IN THIS OPINION THREAD ABOUT THEIR BEING LOCATED IN SAINT LOUIS?
IF SO, WHY?
SO EVERYONE NOTICE THIS URL WHICH WAS IN MY EARLIER POST. IT IS ABOUT THE ORIGINS OF G@G.

Does he like me? Should I ask her out? Why does he do that weird thing when he kisses? Is she just using me for sex?
When it comes to hooking up, we've all wished a panel of opposite-sex experts would help translate and explain what the guy or gal we fancy is really thinking.
Luckily, Tolga Tanriseven offers a solution with his St. Louis-based startup GirlsAskGuys. com, where anonymous users can post questions about their love lives and get opinions from guys (if you're a gal) or from gals (if you're a guy).

====================================
It all started when Tanriseven, a computer engineer, moved to St. Louis from his native Turkey to join his brother and study at Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville. Tanriseven says he felt so sorry for the guys stumbling around in downtown bars trying to pick up ladies that he felt he needed to help them.
"When a guy approaches a girl or when a girl approaches a guy, the methods used, the body language, it just wasn't right," Tanriseven says. "It hit me that if I wanted to do something, the best way for help to happen is to ask."
So Tanriseven created an online space for people to do just that -- ask. On GirlsAskGuys. com and GuysAskGirls. com, questions go up anonymously, and on average, fifteen people of the opposite gender post their own opinions.
"To be able to share what you know is very appealing, not just from a gender perspective but from any perspective," says Tanriseven. "The value is that you hear from hundreds of other people who have been there and had that experience."

Girls Ask Guys' users may find value in the site's large community, but for Tanriseven, the value lies in the 10 million unique visitors coming to the site each month. Traffic jumped two months ago when he redesigned Girls Ask Guys to be more smartphone friendly, bringing 60 percent of traffic through mobile devices. Tanriseven and his business partners, Menguc Tanriseven and Trip Goodloe, attracted $1 million in seed money last year, allowing the site to expand into two new language markets, Turkish and Spanish.
Despite having employees and offices for Girls Ask Guys in seven cities across four time zones, Tanriseven says St. Louis will stay the company's headquarters. Last year, Jim McKelvey, cofounder of Square and one of St. Louis' best-known entrepreneurs, joined the startup as an official advisor.
"Back in the day, when I first launched, I had no idea St. Louis was becoming the tech hub it already is now," says Tanriseven, adding that he's found funding, resources and mentorship here for his budding startup.
If Girls Ask Guys sounds like a dating site, it isn't. Instead, the site bridges the gap between coupling sites, like eHarmony or Tinder, and crowdsourcing social media, like Twitter or Reddit. Girls Ask Guys users are looking to the site for answers about love -- like where they should take a first date -- but not for love itself.
"It's not a place where you can find a date," says Tanriseven. "Instead, it's a palce where you can learn how to get a date and keep that date."
That said, Tanriseven reports that at least one couple who met through Girls Ask Guys has gotten married.
Yeah I have a few classics since been a member.
it’s tempting at times to simply leave the fucked up words in place.
I would definitely just what the type of sentence you would get by simply letting it do ax it’s wanted to do
The one that always trips me up is "boyfriend" in the health and fitness section. It replaces it with "boyfriend" when I'm talking about "body fat". I hate it so much and especially because the site lacks an editing feature.
When i say B F i mean breastfeeding. 🤣 And it autocorrected that to boyfriend too. Sooooo wrong. Lol
Well i had some pretty child molestery things when it replaced the breastfeeding abbreviation with boyfriend. Lol
I think it'd be an improvement to just eliminate all such autocorrections or at least give us the ability to edit these things for just 10 mins after. I've been pleading for an edit function for years. It really makes me cranky when I can't even fix what I wrote. Well, it probably bugs me more than most since English is not my first language and so I'm always worried that I'm miscommunicating. That's kind of a personal OCD thing in my case. Yet it's definitely not helping for the site to replace what I wrote with something completely different from what I intended. :-D
Autocorrect sucks everywhere... to make people laugh. Lol
Have you never read half the autocorrected messages out there...🤣😂 Just go with it. Most of us know what you meant... lifes fun.. just laugh
My favorite one is where someone is trying to say Epi Pen and just keeps yelling EPIC PENIS
I wondered. I use my phone mainly for access to the site and thought it was just that but perhaps it’s the autocorrect on the site it self then.
I always deactivate every and any autocorrect app/feature, I just don't like those things one bit. All mistakes I've made are my own... lol.
it must be settings for your actual phone, probably on the keyboard settings, language, etcétera, there might be more than one.
Don't think I've ever experienced gag auto correcting anything
I never have any problems with auto cock. All my pussies come out exactly as I intended.
@loves2learn apparently it self lives at well,
Or alternatively
Apparently it self lubes as well.
I've never seen that. Oh like other people said it was your phone that makes sense. I do notice here tho it changes abbreviated stuff to full out. Such as in my opinion. I put the 3 letters of this but it does the full thing.
Auto-correct is done by your device or web browser.
It DOES? News to me!! I do all my own correcting! This KEYBOARD sucks and makes SHITLOADS of mistakes!! GAG doesn't fix them, I do!!!
Now that I think of it, the only issue I've noticed is that, sometimes I'll use more than one ! or? for emphasis and, when I click "submit", all but one of them have been erased!!
I noticed that too @FunkyMonkee I think that is a system wide thing. Just like spelling out acronymns like
B f - boyfriend
G f - girlfriend
I m o - in my opinion
F w b - friends with benefits
I really don't mind if it spells things out like that, I only use them as a short cut, anyway. I think that, if my keyboard wasn't such a pain the ass, I wouldn't use them at all.
Makes sense. I wrote b f one time when I meant breastfeeding. That sentence came across as awkward.
D&D Beyond is worse. Especially the character names.
I notice this too. I also think it's funny this question was posted under the Sexuality topic.
I was blaming it on my phone, not gag. And I'm trying to get into the habit of proofreading everything before I hit send.
