Are you more attracted to people who look similar to you?

Ok hear me out. This sounds really weird but is actually a thing. There are a few studies that have suggested that people are more inclined to be attracted to similar looking people (coloring, facial features etc.) In one study people rated composite images that included more of their own facial features as more attractive. And just looking around, a lot of couples really do look like eachother. So do you find this applies to yourself?

Personally ever since reading about this I've noticed that a lot of the people I've been attracted to in the past look kind of similar to me. I wouldn't say I'm exlucivly attracted to similar people, it's just that the familiarity is kind of comforting. And also im weirdly really into the gender swapped version of me even though he looks like Prince Jackson with lip fillers. I guess you could say that I'm my own type.😂

So I'm going out on a limb here, don't tell me I'm the only one who experiences this lol. Why do you think this phenomena is a thing? Also if you know anyone who looks like gender swapped me please arrange our marriage.

  • No. I want someone who looks the total opposite looking of myself given I'm short, ugly, dark, and look older than I really am. Besides both of us being hefty/thick, my ideal girl is tall, beautiful, pale, and looks to be in her mid twenties. Also, I've done the gender swap thing on FaceApp. I just ended up looking like a 40 year old sassy black woman who works at the DMV named Bertha and says "yeah, girl!" a lot. That pretty much 100% confirms I'm ugly, even as a female. (Why do I look like I'm 45 as a woman?)

    Anyways it's fairly common and at some point we all have same ancestors so yeah there will be similarities in face or behaviour you might like.

    They might be similar to someone in behaviour as your family member as well that one trait you like about or it could be kinda like your friend it's all like the surroundings you grew you are most likely to trust them with similar traits

  • You know... I have been noticing this for a long time... that couples do look alike... I mean they have similar facial features.
    When I was a kid , I would always wonder... are these married couples brothers and sisters... confused me a lot.
