Accidentally slept with someone else?

Hi people.
We've been together for 5 years and I love each other, I would never cheated.
Well we've got a lot of mutual friends and last weekend a buddy of ours got married and had a party at his huge house and a lot of us stayed the weekend.
I usually don't drink because I'm always the designated driver but I wasn't driving so I had some fun.
Anyway on Sat. I had a little too much to drink and eventually decided to go back to our room and told my girlfriend that I was going to bed and she said she would be up in a few minutes too but somehow I got delayed for about a half an hour.
So I got to our room and saw she was already in bed and didn't turn the lights on but just got in bed and got close to her. I guess I was a little horny because I started playing around with her and she woke up and playing with me. But I sensed that she was drunk too.
One thing lead to another and we had some really great sex. I was thinking to myself that I guessed that it was a little different because we were both drunk and it took a lot longer too.
Well I finished inside her really deep, really hard for the third time (one oral and two in her).
We were still inside each other catching our breath when the door opens and the light turns on and I see my girlfriend standing there. She's shocked to see me there naked still inside her best friend in our bed.
I'm shocked too, she stormed out and I go after her but she didn't want to talk to me and we haven't talked for a week.
I leaned form her sister that she had told her drunk best friend to go to our room and sleep there and just forgot to tell me. I mean it would never be a problem since we've had people sleep in our bed before.
The problem is I assumed it was her since she said she was going to bed too and her friend was so drunk she just said she had to have sex and didn't even know who it was. I honestly didn't know, probably because I was very drunk and they've got a sort of similar body and it was completely dark.
What do I do?

One thing I would like to clear up is that I understand my girlfriend feels bad about everything and I would never have cheated on her. I would probably feel the same way if the roles were reversed and if I wanted to cheat I would have probably found another way of doing it than the worst way where my girlfriend could literally walk in on me, at least locked the door or jammed it or something if it would have been intentional and I'm not stupid enough to just do it regardless.

Well it's a good news and bad news situation now. The good news is I was able to talk face to face with my girlfriend and we talked it all over, she understands what happened and even said she feels partly responsible for letting her friend sleep in our room without telling me. She doesn't resent me but is still hurt so we're taking things easy. She also talked to her friend and they squared things. Let's hope we can work everything out but we decided enough drinking and partying out of control

    • No I didn't because I was really out of it. Might have been something more than just booze which I suspect it was and they really are very, very similar at least from behind. Screwed up but I honestly don't know how this screwed up situation happened and I'm not disagreeing with you. I keep asking myself how did I not know or figure it out.
