I have no problem, per se, with my girlfriend working there. I assume she can handle herself and, if she gets some nice tips for the way she dresses, fine by me. This is all up to her and I'd support whatever decision - to work there or not - she makes.
Personally, I do not feel comfortable in such a place. And it's not like I am recently woke... I first went to Hooters in Nashville for a lunch with a buddy the day before he got married. It was May 1993 and I was 30 and he was 28. Our buddy who was with us was almost 30 too. It was nice to see all the pretty girls with perky ta-tas, but I didn't like the overt sexuality. I didn't like that it was obvious that the owners were trying to do this and I wanted to value these women as more than something I'd lust after. (I was recently broken-hearted for over a year, too, so I didn't want anyone else.) I've never been to Hooters again. However, I HAVE gone to some strip clubs several times in the previous year. I had just moved to LA and was heartbroken (same heartbreak). I needed "Vitamin Female", so I visited some strip clubs near LAX just to be around some pretty women but mostly for some kind of female companionship. However, I did not just go there and drool at the women; I made sure to bring a lot for tips and dressed in a suit. I wanted to show respect for them and what they do and not just be some piece of eye candy for guys to lust over like the other guys there. The women noticed me because of this...

I once dined solo at a Hooters years ago, purely out of curiosity.
I am definitely heterosexual, with a high libido.
The food was OK.
The attention thrust upon me was clearly merely an attempt at a higher tip.
So, I can now say that I've been there and done that.
I'll likely never go to one those types of restaurants again.
I don't disapprove of them at all, but like I said, been there, done that.
My wife wouldn't be employed at a place like that, and I would likely not be in a relationship with someone who was employed at such a restaurant, so I can't speak to how I would feel about an SO being employed at one, although my saying that I would not likely be in such a relationship does actually answer that question.
I've been in mainstream, highly rated restaurants, accompanied by my wife, where the attractive server firmly planted her shapely hip upon my not unwilling shoulder, again, in a clear attempt to gain a hefty tip.

PS. I personally don't go to these places, I mean I might if I was hungry and that's what was convenient, but even then probably not since it's not that healthy of a choice. I also don't go to strip clubs. The thing is, I love women and beautiful women and sure I like looking at them but in places like that it's not right for me because if I see a woman I'm attracted to, I want to chat her up and see if she is attracted to me, and so going to a place like that I'm setting myself and her up for a weird situation that I don't want. I actually have a bit of an "anti-fetish" about mixing money and love/sex/attraction, it's a huge turn off for me.
I never understood the issue here. These are "bar & grill"/sportsbar places, not strip clubs or brothels. The girls are waiting tables, not giving out handjobs. Yeah, their outfits are on the sexy side, but not nearly as much as you'd see on any beach in the world. And I've seen FAR more skin (including significant actual nudity) at random bars with names that most women wouldn't notice.
Note that these places have plenty of female customers - I've been to Hooters a few times and there were always a table or two of women without men - and often whole families with kids - so, again, it's nothing like what you might experience in an average nightclub, much less a strip club. Yet some women act like these are hookers waiting to suck their guy's dick or something. It's a corporate sportsbar with waitresses in relatively sexy outfits - nothing more.
Well, my first thought it "if they call it breastaurant, they should be serving breasts", but then I think about what that would actually entail, and it's horrifying. And it's not what you were asking, anyway.
I doubt I'd be happy about it, but I know that pretty girls get flirted with and hit on, and ultimately I trust her, or we wouldn't be dating.
This and stuff like Hooters seems like a pre-internet-porn kinda thing. Why the hell would anyone under 50 want to go to these places? I don't think I would be dating a girl who would want to work at a place like this, so this question doesn't apply to me. Hypothetically, I'd approve as long as no one was touching her and she wasn't touching anyone.
