How old were you when you had your first crush?

I took my youngest son to a birthday party today. (He is young!) And one of the little girls from his class was telling me all about how she is in love with one of the little boys from his class. I could see in her mom’s eyes she is worried about the future.

Anyways I had a huge first grade crush and even kissed him on the (chapped) lips which gave me butterflies for dayyyz. In 2nd/3rd grade I used to write notes to the boys I had crushes on and give them Halloween candy. There was a particular set of twins I had my eye on.

All this to say, I have always been pretty clear in my sexuality. And wtf were my parents thinking preaching abstinence when their masturbating 1st grader was professing love towards a classmate? 🤣🤣🤣

I don’t count this as my first kiss because it only happened once and was just a peck. My first kiss happened at the library. I was 13, he was 12 and I wasn’t expecting his tongue so he licked my teeth. 🤣

  • The first precocious crush I ever remember developing was on my babysitter, Trishta Murphy, who was about 16 or 17 back then when I was around 7 or 8. But that year was also full of hormones and I had a few that could've potentially been before her since they are all around the same time.
Another was my brother's highschool best friend, Janelle, who I'm pretty sure was probably around 12 or 13 at the time closer to my brother's age. Which is funny since when I remember back to her she looks 20 or so from my perspective at the time.

My first school crush was definitely my second grade teacher Mrs. Fitzpatrick. She was really sweet all the time and super gorgeous, she couldn't have been older than like 30, she was young.

I had a crush on Jensen Gorman, a girl in my class since the beginning of time for as long as I could remember and her father actually briefly taught me in grade 2 before the class was separated and some of us went to Mrs. Fitzpatrick (something that would also occur in Grade 3 where I distinctly remember starting in Mrs. Windover's room but all my class photos have one of the other teachers (can't remember which one right now off by heart)). Actually I still occasionally think of Jensen. I think about her on particularly lonely nights and wonder how things have gone for her and if she ever thinks of me at all (probably not, I wasn't exactly the stand-out or good-looking football player in my youth). She was always one of the popular girls but she in particular stood out since she was the only one that was always nice to me for some reason so it was hard not to have a crush on her.

I'd argue my first real crush that wasn't just some puppy-dog love thing was also on a teacher but it was on my high school English teacher, Mrs. Powell, a brilliant, beautiful blonde I got along really well with. I'd call her my first "real" crush since she was the first woman I really saw flaws and all.

Or one could suggest that my current crush is my first real one since it's the first woman I've just genuinely wanted friends with and nothing more which for some reason just makes it all the more difficult to ignore the glaring similarities and chemistry between us, amongst countless other obstacles.

At the end of the day I just hope to eventually reach a point in my life where I no longer go after what ifs and my thoughts never wonder to explore lost lenores and long-forgotten but ever lingering crushes. Even random and barely-memorable faded ones that barely register like little blips on the map like Kelsey or Mikayla or Johanna. Maybe after I finally stick my dick in a woman she'll hopefully be the sole one that dominates my mind.

    • If you have great chemistry with your friend and think she could be described as a crush, why do you not want more than friendship with her?

    • @RealMarek Romantic relationships don't last. Friendships do. I finally met a woman I want in my life.

    • @InventorofWarp Romantic relationships can last, although not all do of course. Is she planning to avoid romantic relationships too? What will happen if she ends up living with or marrying a different man?

  • I was in 8th grade and she sat behind me in homeroom. I think that maybe she liked me a little bit too. Then she went to a different school in 9th grade and I never saw her again.

    • This was not my first kiss either. The little girl that lived next door kissed me right on the lips one day. I was 5.

    • That’s cute!

    • not the way we did it.

  • About 9 or 10 for a proper crush

    • What constitutes proper?

    • As in one I really wanted, other girls in the class you might want to kiss but she was someone I wanted to date proper

    • Niiiice. Got it.

  • lol, I think I was like 5

  • 6 years old.

  • A girl in kindergarten is probably the earliest crush that I can recall.

    • I enjoyed reading your prepubescent experiences. I once got in trouble for somewhat 'personalizing' a valentine to a particular girl in 5th grade, when the entire class was required to send a valentine to everyone else in the classroom. The teacher, after having been notified of the contents of my valentine by the girl who received it, which was nothing but an innocent 5th grade boy's brave attempt at expressing a degree of affection, read it to the entire class and went on about a 5 minute lecture about why my actions were inappropriate. Sheesh! What a way to traumatize a young boy who is about to enter puberty. Oh, the drama!!! I've recovered, if you're wondering. It took a darn long time, though. Lol.

    • Ohhhh man. So sorry. I know you have recovered but still. 👊🏻

    • Thanks. Your 'recovered, but still' comment does tell the tale, which is why I chose to share the story. I wonder if my 5th grade teacher felt your facepunch. Lol.

  • first crush probably 6 but we didn't do anything, first experience i guess was at age 10 when a boy licked my nipples (before i had boobs), i didn't realize it was sexual and maybe it wasn't at that age but omg did it feel good like nothing i had yet

    • Haha! I think that is kids experimenting but I bet that did feel good!

  • 6th grade, and she was just FCKING WOW!!! She had just more than shoulder length brown hair, and always wore the most delightful dresses!! Flower prints, like "Prairie Style". Sometimes with buttons, and sometimes with lace trim.
A lot of the boys liked her, but she ignored them. She was always nice to me, and often didn't have a pencil, and I always kept a few extra, just for her!
I got beat up, a LOT, because she liked me, and was like my best friend, and ignored those idiots! Like she KNEW they were losers and going NOWHERE!! LOL!!

    • Love it! Good story!

    • @loves2learn REAL, and I wonder, sometimes, where she is, and if she married and had children.

    • I bet you do…

  • I was in kindergarten when I had my first actually crush, but I don’t remember ever not liking boys.

    • Same! I always liked boys too!

  • age 6... and all through elementary

then again at age 12... and all through middle-school

    • Pretty much same! But I kissed some guys in Jr. High.

    • I was way too shy... to even get close to the one in elementary less shy at age 12, I was friends with her but none of that... lol my first kiss was at age 16, in high-school

    • Glad to hear you came out of your shell :)

  • Maybe 10 my moms bfs well I didn’t know better but I always wanted their attention

  • First grade also. Boy next door and I became best friends as our moms were also friends. We were nudist so sward fighting with our boners and masturbating was common. Our moms were ok with that. I think it made me more confident about my body and relationship.

    • That’s great. Are you gay or bisexual? I support you whatevs!

    • Gay but curious sometimes

    • That’s cool. And neat that you could have such a close relationship with your best friend.

  • 7 of my childhood nest friend

  • I was 5.

He was like 11 and barely knew i existed😔

    • Awww isn’t that how it goes at that age?

    • Yeah. So true.

  • I was about the same age as you

    • Gwen 🥰🥰🥰My friend. We have so much in common.

    • 🥰🥰🥰

  • I had a crush on a kindergarten classmate when I was six.

  • First crush? I was like 6-8

  • Seventeen.

  • At least 5, maybe even 3.

    • The earliest one I can REMEMBER was in Kindergarten when I met the preacher's daughter, Susan Kruphardt (sp?). Of course, nothing ever came of it and, by third grade, I couldn't stand being there anymore because a lot of the kids were always making fun of me for various reasons. So, in 4th grade, I went to a different school, about 5 blocks (instead of 2 miles) from my house and I met a new bunch of people, some of which were even worse than what I'd just left!! I never saw Susan again and it was only about a decade or two later that I discovered that she'd been living about 4 blocks up the hill from my new school the whole time!! Had I known sooner, I might've gone up there and tried to make something of the relationship. Last I heard, she was in Florida! That was about 25 years ago. I had a nasty cold, at the time and decided to write her a very long letter catching her up on my life while I was in bed but, I never bothered sending it.

    • Awwww. You should have sent it! That would make a great reunion story!

    • I switched schools in 2nd grade. But my second school was much better.
