If not in work should one live on benefits/public money or be a sex worker/prostitute/stripper?

So gagers we have a lot of people around us living on Public Money and government benefits. Some say they do look for work but can't really find one but also there are many who don't bother to go to job centers and register to find work and instead they just rely on public funds
If not in work should one live on benefits/public money or be a sex worker/prostitute/stripper?
On the other hand there are guys/girls who if can't find work they would join a strip club and work as stripper/sex worker/prostitute thinking that its better to be in some kind of work than claiming benefits.
If not in work should one live on benefits/public money or be a sex worker/prostitute/stripper?
I think its not so dignified to claim benefits as i think those funds can be better spent on more deserving people like the ones who have disability of a kind which is hurdle for them to be in work etc.
If not in work should one live on benefits/public money or be a sex worker/prostitute/stripper?
Yes.. many would claim being a stripper and prostitute is also not dignified work but I don't understand why and how as this is also a job which actually involves more personal nature of hard work and efforts.
If not in work should one live on benefits/public money or be a sex worker/prostitute/stripper?
What is your opinion on this?

  • Social services exist for a reason and regardless of who you are, if you're working, you pay into them your whole life.
I spent almost half a year unemployed during the pandemic and it killed my self-esteem but it allowed me important things such as time to recognize that what I was doing beforehand wasn't working for me and the ability to change and do something that I not only enjoy but feel more productive doing.
Personally I don't think I could ever be a stripper or a prostitute and would rather be homeless. I'm a virgin, I've held onto my innocence for a reason into my 20s and I'd just rather have nothing and still have my integrity intact than give up on that and do something that would compromise my personal values, beliefs and morals.

That's not to say that people who do such jobs aren't perfectly nice and moral people as well. You're an incredibly nice person I've had the wonderful chance to speak with. I've gone to strip clubs before and met some wonderfully nice ladies (unfortunately also some not so nice).
And actually I have feelings for a woman who was once a sex worker. Doesn't diminish who she is in my eyes any less, a warm, sweet, kind, innocent person who's fully deserving of everything she wants.
But me personally and the standards I hold myself to, I would never trade myself out for that.

Tbh also, I'm gonna add in that a lot of the famous celebrities, musicians, singers, actors/actresses and athletes that you love have probably had a period in their lives where they were either homeless, broke, on welfare or all of the above and it's actually what allowed them to have a moment to compose themselves and the time to suddenly shift into where they are now. Some examples as follows:
-JK Rowling: Homeless and on welfare before writing Harry Potter (what allowed to write it), she actually had to choose between paying her heating bill or rent a couple times.
-Charlie Hunnam: Homeless and then shit broke and used welfare until he was 25 when he sold the script for Vlad and landed his audition for Jax on Sons of Anarchy after Cold Mountain, his debut in a main role, bombed.
-Idris Elba: Was homeless and broke and on food stamps in his early 20s prior to landing his first audition.
-Jason Momoa: Was homeless twice actually.
-Travis Fimmel: Ragnar Lothbrook actually walked into his first modelling audition at 23 in 2002 broke and barefoot without having showered and still became the first man to ever land a 6-figure Calvin Klein deal.

Judging based solely on the beginning or the end of the journey is pretty silly in my opinion. You need the whole context.

    • Wowwwww all i can say is u r simply incredible n rightfully superb opinion

  • That is a tough nut. As a "bottom line" answer, I would rather see a person, man or woman try to support themselves in any way possible, WITH THE EXCEPTION THAT I DONT WANT THEM TO PUT THEMSELVES AT RISK, FROM WORKING IN SEX WORK OR SOME KIND OF WORK THAT ENDANGERS THEM.
I have a woman 'friend' (who is not really a friend but an 'escort' acquaintance. I met her through YouTube several years ago, and found her interesting, from all aspects.
I went to her after two episodes of 'not being able to get it up' and thought she might offer a solution. (She is a counselor, has a Masters Degree from Arizona State, with a minor in Computer Science. She plays classical piano, and has a Baby Grand in her dining room and has a complete, framed, picture of a perfect Clitoris on her wall.

She earns 400.00 dollars an hour and charged me 750.00 for two hours with her. (I supplied the bottle of expensive red wine)
I told her I was CONCERNED about her safety, working as an 'escort'. She only sees Clients in her home, and does not go to hotels, motels, or clients homes.
She said there is NO other job she could take that would pay her 400.00 an hour, and have the security she has.

That is a very long answer to your question, and I hope it makes my position clean as to your inquiry.

  • i did prostitution i guess... but it was guys making outlandish offers for a blowjob... and i didn't stand on a street corner... i have respect for sex workers... but i also think very few girls can do that...1st of all you have a certain personality... and looks... i don't think a guy would want a blowjob from every girl walking around... tall blondes make the grade fortunately or unfortunately... i definitely don't think a banker should say hmm i lost my job i think i'll go stand on street corners waiting for john's who want head... it's a lot to ask and only certain girls can do that... and the answer really desperate one's but they also have to be attractive... or not i haven't seen everyone that did that ever... but regardless i'll give my panties to any girl who does that... with the most respect... honestly... it's a very difficult task... i cried to tears the 1st time i gave blowjobs for money thinking i was a whore... but i really wasn't... a man wanted that so he paid me to do that... i can meet a man tonight and never tell him those things... and he'll reap the benefit of having a girlfriend who gives him head whenever he wants... so i don't feel like a whore but more like a loving human being... sex is good most humans want that so i don't feel ashamed.

  • If you are comfortable going into sex work, by all means. I think it also depends where you live. Sex work is a lot more accepted in Europe than the US.
    .
But also I am sure my husband would rather I collect unemployment or get a loan than go into sex work.

    • really? i heard US is more open to it than here and getting a loan is also going to be a problem tbh plus for how long one can keep borrowing well i think if the husband can provide a little extra till the wife finds work that is a better option than going on benefits... but ofcourse each to their own choices n understandings

    • Yes. Indeed. I collected the benefits (or tried) just in the few months it took me to find new employment.

    • i think that little period when one is really trying to find work is alright the problem arises when people prolong that period and do not put real efforts in finding work

  • there are a lot of people on benefit through no fault of their own there are a lot of people that are just lazy and won't work,
take an older man that my family knew, he was a carpenter, got an ear infection, could do his trade any more but wanted work, he took the job of a night porter
as for being a stripper you are only really talking about female things there are a few men strippers and escorts but not many

    • Yea great example of i would say a proper n real person who couldn't stay free n started working in night in different capacity. N yeah it is more female friendly n accommodating

  • They should take a sex worker job. It should be more acceptable in society. Sex more available for people like incels, so they'd do a public service

    • i totally agree

  • I think those are all viable possibilities, and I also think you should consider finding yourself a submissive male pay pig, as well.

    • Well i m a sub myself

    • That hasn't stopped thousands of women from enjoying the luxury, convenience and satisfaction of being spoiled by a sweet, submissive male pig, who simply enjoys the arrangement.

    • Coz those must be switch... n i m the one who needs to be told

  • I’ve been fortunate enough that my job was not effected during the pandemic. However, knowing me, I still have stripper/bartender stuck at the back of my mind just to say I’ve done it.

    • Hehe thats wonderful i would say

  • If one has the constitution, inclination, and talent for sex work, sure. But you could say that about pretty much ant profession.

    • yes we can but we are discussing what if we dont find an opportunity in other professions

    • That doesn't guarantee an opportunity in sex work. It isn't as low a bar as people imagine.

    • No it doesn't but comparatively one can find opportunity in this industry N no definitely its not a low bar at all

  • I do both.

    • U mean u claim benefits n also work as a stripper/prostitute?

    • @elizamichale1 yes, the benefits I receive allows me to also work "small gigs" without any risk. I don't break any rules by doing this.

    • Hmm i see But if u r working as a stripper/prostitute are u not making enough to cover all ur expenses

    • Show All
  • one should do what they feel they can to avoid living off the state so if one is happy to work in the adult industry then why not but it should never be forced on someone

    • Oh yess definitely no matter what job nobody should be forced to do anything

  • Do what makes you comfortable is what i say. And don't really care about conservative opinions on it.

    • Thats how it should be tbh

  • Get out of here and make some god damn money. Go work down on kitty lane and hooker Ave. plenty of juice to be made.

    • Hehe absolutely right I like the pursuing

  • I think it would be very unethical and probably totally illegal to force someone to do that.

    • No darling we are not discussing about forcing anyone honey What we are discussing is if someone chooses to be a stripper or prostitute after not finding work anywhere

  • As someone who does live on benefits, they pay shit. You cannot survive on benefits alone unless you a) have someone else paying for a lot of your bills/groceries/other expenses, or b) have a cash side hustle going on. Honestly, I totally understand why some people turn to sex work in one form or another to help pay the bills

    • But do u think sex work is bad though

    • I don't think, for me, it's as simple as a "yes it's bad" or a "no it's fine". I think it's bad if someone is forced into it, whether by someone else or by circumstance, and they don't want to be doing it. And I think the inherent risk/high rates of abuse in sex work is scary and needs to change somehow. But if they are doing it of their own free will and they feel safe and they are content to be a sex worker, I support them and I think it's fine. I don't think less of anyone who does sex work, and I don't think it should be a crime.

    • Great n wonderful 😘😘

  • The problem with me is that as hot as I m, nobody will pay money to watch a 50 year old guy with a fake hip take off his clothes.

  • I'm not sure where you live but there are lots of jobs out there if a person really wants to work. Even here I am working 60 - 70 hrs a week & have been approached by employers & offered 2 jobs in recent weeks.

    • Well lucky for u darling but not everyone is so good at finding work tbh i mean had it been so easy why would we have so many jobless n homeless people

  • The situation for actual working people is that when they have lost their job it takes time to actually get another sometimes but they've got to pay the bills rent mortgage. Now usually you'd expect someone to have saved up some money just in case but many are just getting by. Lots are also just plain abusing the system because they can't actually get a job nobody gives them one and they won't do a job for minimum wage. The ones in between jobs have contributed to tax so deserve to fall back on the system. Sex work is a choice, not everyone would want to or is good-looking enough. Students tend to because they can't claim and are attractive to a paying customer.

    • yea true but those not agreeing to work on minimum wage n all dont really deserve the support tbh coz why can't the work for minimum wage till they find a better option yes the sex industry prefers all the good looking ones but still it accomodates almost everyone tbh

    • Can't agree more, sometimes a gap filling job actually might give you a skill that a better job might be after in future. It certainly worked out that way for me to my surprise.

    • well there u are... thats what i meant

  • Well I'm a bit over the hill to be stripping. And besides, if my daughter ever stumbled across a video of her father stripping it would scar her for life. She could never ever unsee that.

    • i dont see why it would scar her... she should be comfortable enough to accept the fact that her father tried to live on his own

    • That was just a joke anyway lol I've worked all my life. And she's studying to become a veterinarian. She's wanted that since she was 12. It's the other way around actually. I'm proud of her for pursuing her goals and working hard to achieve them all on her own.

    • awww i wish her all the best there is n i adore u for supporting her that way

  • Oh fuck off

    • really? for the question or for the options i said what is your opinion about being on benefits though

  • If you can't work, then receiving government benefits is absolutely acceptable. Being a sex worker for whatever reason is also acceptable. Society is so messed up when it comes to sex.

    • I forgot to add that I don't see any problem with sex work. Everyone on the planet who has a job is selling themselves in one way or another. I don't know why people single out sex work as a bad thing. Do they think modeling is bad? Is being an athlete bad? It's being in manual labor bad? What about a doctor? Every one of those is selling some portion of their body in some way or another. People who look down on other people simply because of what they do for a living are really disgustingly self-righteous. My opinion with pretty much everything is that as long as it's not hurting someone else, adults should be able to do whatever they choose.

    • I agree

  • Always do what you can take. Someone just couldn't be a sex worker, someone can easily manage.

    • Alrighy

    • And if that was a question about my opinion, I think I would think better of the sexual worker because that person decided to make money by working instead of relying on taxpayers money for doing nothing.

    • Great opinion then😘😘

  • If the government system of welfare benefits is not abused and used the way they are supposed to and only for those that are truly in need of assistance then I have no issue with that. My issues are with the abusers of the benefit.

Not everyone has the stones to be a sex worker. Not everyone can be a sex worker and not everyone wants to be a sex worker.

I have no issue with sex work at all if that what someone wants to do to provide for themselves then who am I to say anything against it. As long as children aren't involved or neglected and everyone is of legal age, have at it.

Being a sex worker take a special kind of person, if that person is not spiraling out of control doing other things and keeping Thier shit in order.

At the same time there are some people that really need government assistance and are trying to get jobs to provide but for whatever reason they haven't.

I don't condemn anyone for doing what they need to do to provide for themselves or Thier family and doing the right thing overall.

    • Each of the bit you said is absolutely right darling n i agree completely Unfortunately there are many who abuse the system and those were the ones i was pointing at coz to me anyone who is just lazy enough to find work is also abusing the system And yes not everyone can be a sex worker i completely agree but well this is the industry where at least one can give a try anytime whether for temporarily or for longer while

    • You are right as well and those that don't want to work and sit home collecting benefits are some of the abusers I spoke of.

    • i wish we could change those tbh
