First: yes, you can get lost in the act. You want to enjoy the act. Thinking about the perspective of impregnating someone is not what gets me most in the moment. And I don’t want to ask a woman to trust me that I’m gonna announce it and move out timely. Great way to keep her out of the mood.

Two: pulling out is a lot less effective than barriers (like condoms) to prevent pregnancy. There is always the chance of a mistake, like you’re on top and he cannot move quickly enough. Not only that, but precum could contain a little amount of sperm, especially if you already had sex before.

Then, we use condoms to prevent infections. Again, better be safe than ask someone to deal with the consequences.

I’ve done my deal of “pulling out” sex, with consent and STI tests. It’s fun a couple times but it’s not the only way to enjoy sex, nor the best.

To put it simply for myself? It feels like I'm getting my whole body sucked in. My brain is telling me to pull out and my body simply will not let me even when i want to. As to why they need condoms? I precum and i can't really feel it much when I do. Add to the stimulation the vagina gives and it's easy to wind up in a bad situation. Also condoms protect against STDs.
