There isn't such a thing as "ideal" number when it comes to anything sexual in general.

There are girls that don't like being penetrated for much longer after she had her orgasm. Also sometimes it will also depend on the relationship status as well.

Personally have found this works quite well :-

ONS :-
Foreplay = 15-30 minutes. (Can be reduced by 5-10 minutes if you give HER oral)
Insert & Thrusting = depends on the speed, 5 mins if fast or very fast, 10-15 mins if not fast and have generally found best to start 10 mins long, deep or full but not too fast strokes, 3 mins fast but deep strokes and 1-2 minutes of very fast strokes but not deep strokes though it could be deep if yours' isn't too long.
After sex cuddle = 10-15 mins.

girlfriend/Wife :-
Foreplay = 30-45 mins on a usual basis, 3-5 mins for quickie type.
Insert & Thrusting = Long enough to make her cum once or twice + 3-5 minutes extra for yourself. You won't have time to go too much longer as sleep, bills, kids and work calls :p
After sex cuddle = However long she requires.

If it was including foreplay id say longer than 30 mins. I like doing either bj or sex not both at once. If I wanna have sex the foreplay will b at least 10 mins but it can last hours if I’m in a teasing mood... sometimes I give her the sex sometimes I don’t and just let that pussy drip...

ideally foreplay and sex combined would be longer than 30 tho. I have had the days of 30 minutes, and I have had off days where it was a few pumps and done. Realistically the whole encounter usually lasts longer than 20 mins, foreplay and all of the fun stuff, but the actual intercourse is probably 5-10 mins ona good day anymore.
