Is it normal to shake after an orgasm?

I like getting off watching porn on my phone but when I do this on the couch my legs shake when I stand up after ward. Is this normal because I feel light headed and weak for about 5 min

  • It’s actually very normal and natural for that type of post orgasmic manifestation to occur. Some of the best moments post orgasm are when you let your body taper off and relax for a while. It can be very stress relieving and cause a deep state of relaxation that is very healthy but necessary for the body to regain normal function of the muscles, heart rate, respiration, etc. Orgasm causes power chemical reactions and firing of the central nervous system. These chemicals are pitocin and oxytocin among many others. This is how you have the contracting feelings deep inside your vagina and pelvic region or the need squeeze a penis or other inserted item. It’s also partly why a man’s penis can twitch and pulsate while expelling semen and continues to do so off and on for minutes following ejaculation. It’s a naturally amazing biological process. But because it’s so powerful, the rest of the muscles in the body can contract, especially in the legs sometimes without even noticing. So allowing the body to relax when all covered in your own mess (or his) after is important and nice. This goes for both men and women. Don’t rush it, just enjoy the bliss following.

  • It doesn't just affect the muscles in your genital area, however, but actually most muscles of the body. When the orgasm is over and the tension of the muscles is released, shaking in the legs can occur. It's generally nothing to be worried about so just enjoy that post-orgasm wobble!

  • It’s quite normal. I’ve see that more often in people with vaginas. I think it depends on the type of orgasm and how good it was, but for some people it just happens all the time. Personally I never had it literally like that. Like, legs could be weak if they are tired, or if they were very tense before. But not literally shaking. But people are quite different!

    • mine shake and I can barely stand

  • Sounds normal to me. I get that way and so does my partner. I guess that how we know it was good. Not very often does it not happen, so that's why we think that. You must be doing something right I think.

  • We all experience different feelings after an orgasm. Some leave me dizzy and weak for a few minutes and others just feel great but I can stand etc. right away. Just enjoy them.. do you have a boyfriend to share orgasms with?

    • single rn

  • It is normal but depends on the situation. This sometimes happens to me but it tends to depend on how strong my orgasm is at the time or where I'm doing it etc.
My legs always shake when I'm being watched while I'm masturbating.

  • It certainly can be normal yes, an orgasm uses up quite a bit of energy, and can take a little time to recover from.

  • I do every single time

  • I have been light headed and shaky, after an orgasm. Pretty normal I think

    • I did it standing and barely held myself up 😂

    • Just don't try to stand up right away. A lot of blood leaves your 'core' and goes to you sex organs. I thought it was weird. At one point with a girlfriend, I collapsed on top of her, and it scared the hell out of me ! I thought I might lose consciousness. I can see how some older men have a heart attack and die.

  • Orgasm is an overload of the nervous system, so YES, it makes sense for your legs to shake (and maybe feel a little light-headed) after an orgasm, until the nervous system recovers.

  • Yes, good ones are like this for me too.

  • Yeah, that's normal for intense orgasms.

    • I guess so

  • It's not common, but not abnormal. I think a lot of women may feel jealous because that sounds really good.
