  • It is done without our consent, It is done to us, Forced on us. And yet the only gender that is protected from any kind of genital cutting is women..

Regardless of how you personally feel about the practice of circumcision (I personally find it barbaric, cruel and completely unjustifiable), the legal fact is that infant girls are protected against any genital cutting of any kind and infant boys are not. Many feminists will argue that female genital mutilation (FGM) is a magnitude of brutality beyond male genital mutilation and while that may be true, I do not find the “it’s only a little bit brutal” argument to be very compelling. It’s like saying cutting off a toe is okay because cutting off a foot is much worse. Ultimately, the argument is immaterial to the fact that women have the legal right to be protected from having their body parts sliced off. Men do not.

  • I didn't vote for either because I think it depends on why the circumcision is done. If it's just for vanity then yes I think it's definitely wrong and also if it's for religious reasons. But if it's for medical reasons then I think that is fine.
I don't have any children but if I had a son I wouldn't have him circumcised

  • circumsized penis looks clean and good to suck but after reading some articles about it on Google, I personally feel its abuse to a child. Let the child grow and he can get it done once he is adult due to a personal choice or medical reasons. I don't think I have the right to take a decision about my son's foreskin.

    • I respect your choice! I still think circ looks better and is cleaner though. It's much easier to do as a baby so I think its easier to do then

    • As an adult, the foreskin can always be pulled back...

  • I have no opinion on this. Much like I don’t think guys (other than the father) should get a vote on abortion, I don’t think women should get a vote on circumcision. These are both issues which are unique to the experience of one gender.

  • Have two sons and both are circumcised, however my husband is not. We made the decision together.

    • What reasons made you decide for it?

    • @Tellme It's simply healthier and easier to keep clean.

  • Yes it’s mutilation of a child often without their consent

    • I seriously cannot believe people are using hygiene as an excuse to mutilate a child. We have modern washing facilities, it’s only hard if you are unable to carry out very very basic washing.

  • Yes. [Please answer why In the comments.]
I don't think it's right to mutilate a male's genitals, especially without his permission. And *especially* for some dumb-ass religious purpose.

  • Unless my son has a medical issue that requires his foreskin to be removed I will leave him as God made him.

  • Yes, outside of religious reasons or exceptional medical cases, I don't see why its done.

Uncircumcised men around the world don't have hygiene issues or health issues, there is no medical argument to back it up.

  • It is completely backwards and barbaric. Adults can do all kinds of silly things if they wish, but don't you dare cut a child. I am glad my country doesn't have such stupid tradition.

  • I am cut and find it is easier to keep clean than what I hear from some of my uncut friends.

  • Yes as there is not reason for that. And no I wouldn't do it to my son

  • It is definitely bad and no I didn't circumcise my boys since that is just unnecessary

    • What if they wanted to as a choice? The only thing you're thinking when you say it's bad is because you think you're doing it without their consent but what if they really wanted to? Still bad? www.mayoclinic.org/.../pac-20393550

    • @Aiko_E_Lara if they want it done they can get it done later in life

    • it's gonna give them a harder time if they do it as an adult. It's gonna cost more of the insurance and the lost of work time. It's not really gonna affect it's school time if they do it on a summer/winter break. Adults barely get any breaks tho. So yeah they're really gonna miss that chance and the best time to have it done if they turn into an adult.

    • If you think uncircumcised dicks are unclean vaginas must be absolutely rancid.

    • @Celtero Not really comparable, you sound mad lol

  • I absolutley wouldn't let my son be circumcised, if they want to they can decide for themselves when they are 18.

  • Yes, it's unecessary and is genital mutilation. The benefits of it are minimal and nothing that can't be taught easily. I would not do it to my son

    • "minimal" www.mayoclinic.org/.../pac-20393550 What if it's your son's choice? You still think it's bad?

    • "The risks of not being circumcised, however, are not only rare, but avoidable with proper care of the penis." Then he can make that choice for himself when he is old enough. It's not up to me.

    • Do you realize it's actually harder to circumcised as a grown up and those risk gets higher? It also takes longer to heal if you do it as an adult, and you're gonna be missing a lot of work time. So yea you just ruined his one chance of getting what he always wanted as a kid. Even if you say it's unnecessary, the plus still stands. The risk of it is not even a permanent but the benefit is.

  • I'm circumcised, it's more attractive and is more hygienic, and women seen to like it more. Studies have also confirmed that an uncircumcised man is at higher risk of contracting an STD than a circumcised man.
Yes I would consider getting my son circumcised.

  • Being circumcised myself, it has never affected me.

Most people against it, are either ignorant, fearful or victims of their parents cheaping out when getting it done and thus suffering as a result.

  • Yes, it's an unnecessary outdated religious practice. You know something's up when the people who practice it the most are in Africa and the Middle East.

  • Yes, it is painful and it is wrong to permanently alter someone's body when they are too young to consent or make important decisions. Society shouldn't harm male children like that.

    • It's not even painful and also, what if it's his choice?

    • @Aiko_E_Lara "His choice?" So an infant can make choices now? And why do they scream if it isn't painful? You seriously lack intelligence.

    • What i even talking about an infant? You said male children so why does it only mean infant?

  • No and I have had no side effects except that girls like giving be a blow job.

  • My father had to get circumcized in his 50s. It was not pleasant.

  • I think its a barbaric practice and should be criminalized for children unless medically necessary.

  • I will not, i will let the wife to decide.
Personal, i know that jews baptaising or something like that. Olso i don't see any benefices.
