Christians, are fetishes and kinks considered sins?

I know adultery and fornication are definitely sins but what about fetishism and kink behavior? Are they considered to be immoral sexual behaviors or only if the person allows their fetishes and kinks to get out of control?

I think almost everyone has at least a fetish and or kink but I wonder if it is our duty as Christians to fight against our fetishes and kinks while only practicing Vanilla sex within marriage or if we are allowed to have kinks and fetishes as long as they are under control, not extreme and within marriage.

  • Why would they be? Seriously- think about all that Jesus had to say about sex; it's precious little. The only big thing was that if you look at a woman with lust in your heart, then in your heart, you've already committed adultery with her. Logically, then, the best thing to do would be to take whatever measures you can to ensure sexual satisfaction with your spouse, so as to avoid temptation that is, itself, sinful. Repressing sexual desires doesn't make them go away, it makes them stronger.

Many people have very mixed-up ideas about cause and effect in regards to sexuality, but reality doesn't change simply because you misunderstand it.

  • Sadly, B.
The First presidency of the LDS church and pretty much every single female member would have artificial insemination the only way to reproduce. If they could find some sort of doctoronal evidence for a rule like that.
Joseph Smith & Brigham Young didn't reallllyyy give damn, but the new millennium has brought forth new rules with no scriptural support. And despite being a believer in the core of the LDS church, The Law of chastity and it's ever-increasing regulation, is not the word of god. Old men and women who have had a bed partner for half of a century wrote it.

    • @Pixel343 What's the Law of Chastity?

  • To oppress, silence and hide is a true sin. We don't live in medieval times anymore. We should not oppress human sexuality; instead, talk about it, share and enjoy it and be thankful to God for all our senses ; )

    • I agree. Within marriage.

    • @Jamie05rhs Yeah well sure I agree if you have that trusted life time partner sure but 90% singles nowadays you know

    • @Henrika I know most people are single. I'm one of them. Lol

  • They are not sins as long as they are under control and not extreme

  • Nope. As long as it isn't cheating, or being one of the forbidden couplings then it is fine.

  • "Fetishes and kinks are sins and it’s the duty of the Christian to fight against them. Only Vanilla sex within marriage is allowed".
I disagree if it is your wife. Anything but violence and group sex is OK.

  • Within the confines of marriage so long as it's not immoral and it's consensual almost anything goes.

  • They are not sins so long as performed with one’s spouse only. All forms of sexual activity outside of marriage are sins. Within marriage absolutely nothing is prohibited with the exception of involving people whom you’re not married to (3 somes for example) or zoophelia or things that are prohibited for anyone married or not.

My wife and I are devout Christian’s and I’m sure we could make a porn star blush.

  • Probably sins outside the concept of marriage.

  • Give into your fetishes and kinks and have fun. 💞💞

  • No kinks are no sins

  • I think "it's a sin" to spend your entire life having ONLY vanilla sex in your marriage! LOL Zzzzzz

    • Additionally, I don't recall there being ANY mention whatsoever in the Scriptures about "how" sex is to be performed. Onward Christian soldiers, huh?

    • True. In fact it encourages spouses to fullfill each others' sexual urges. Did I say SPOUSES YES. SPOUSES They have to be a MAN and a WOMAN.

    • Agreed.

  • That totally depends what kinds of fetishes and kinks you're talking about. There's some sick stuff out there.

  • it is not a sin unless it involves sinning

    • ^This

  • I am inclined to agree with you. In sexual matters within the Christian marriage arrangement, scriptures such as 1 Corinthians 7:4 (husbands and wives should cater to each other) and Hebrews 13:4 (certain practices don't belong in the marriage arrangement at all) are always helpful.

  • This changes from Christian to Christian, the Bible talks about "sexual immorality", whatever that means is up to debate, some Christians are only inclined to include sexual behavior regarded as bad in secular morality (such as rape), while others might include everything except penis in vagina in marriage with the sole goal of reproduction (my former pastor thought that).

  • You like sniffing people's farts to get sexually excited shows you are definitely weird and kinda crazy and nasty. That's all I'm going to say.

    • Only women’s. But is it a sin or no?

    • That is funny, imagine confessing this to a priest.

    • @AdFSDf Not a sin if that’s what you’re both into, but I’ll personally pass on that one.

  • As far as i am aware, it depends. Does it take over your time with the Lord? Then yes.
... "to make crooked the path of the Lord". If some does it is. Otherwise, no. But it coukd be a stumbling block to someone else... be wary

  • I never saw anything that made me think they are a sin. However some may be a sin, for example male homosexuality as a kink or like double teaming your wife, clearly a sin. Wanting to spank your wife or have her dress like a cheerleader... not sins. I would also say like a female pegging a male would be sinful, role reversal is reverse of Gods prescribed roles so not a good idea.

  • As long as you only have sex with your spouse most things are not sinful. There are some exceptions but most kinks don't fall into this category.

  • Bible says sex only between married couple. So anything other would be a sin.

  • As long as you're married and not hurting anyone it's fine. Unless you're a Roman Catholic in which case everything is a sin.

  • Yes they are sex should only be natural sex in Christian marriages

    • Ok. Where does it say that or imply it by not directly saying it.

  • Only sex within marriage is allowed all else is fornication god doesn’t acknowledge gay marriage as real marriage it’s just fornication so being gay isn’t the sin it’s the sex outside of marriage
