Can a person have a sex addiction without having sex?

Question

I have chronic, obsessive sexual thoughts and fantasies.
However, I’ve been celibate for most of my life. Because the times I have had sex effects me very strongly and that’s all I wanted or thought about and nothing else. But these situations have always ended badly.
For years, especially the past year, I have not been able to stop thinking about sex and the fact that I do not have it. It’s not just passing thoughts, it’s all I think about.

What you're suffering from are intrusive thoughts brought on by your lack of motivation and discipline. Get yourself into the gym, sports or whatever gets you wet and blowing off that pent up energy.

We always crave what we don't have. The longer we go without, the more intense the thoughts. Maybe try sexting with somebody and get those thoughts and feelings out. I never thought about sexting until I did with a woman I didn't know and it was super exciting. Give it a try as you have nothing to lose and only pleasure to gain.
