Why do guys brag about who they have sex with?

They tell friends who they slept with. Why do they do this? Is it to purposely embarrass or slut shame the girl?

This is in my top five of reasons why I don't like guys
1. Because when they go out of their way 2 get a girl. When they have sex. They make it only about themselves. And when I mean about that is it put their dick in give it three or four strokes they come they get dressed leave then they're on the phones with their friends bragging what kind of stud they were in there one minute fuck session. And didn't even get the girl off. And sometimes it's even worse if they're married I work with about 6 guys better either married or single but every Monday morning here comes the stories if they're single. Who they fucked how they fucked and what a stud they are. And if they are married its worse.. I just look at them when there mouths are moving a d say out loud hey we know your wife I'm sure she doesn't want her business all over town what's wrong with you LOL it's been that way since I was 15 or 16 years old listening to you guys. When I was fifteen and a half 16 the very first girl that I faxed nobody knew about it until I said it on here 100 years later I went out with the 47 year olds 4 year my friends always wanted know where I was what I was doing I didn't tell none of them the only one that knew about it was my little brother that's because he watched me get picked up by this lady every other day but he thought I was just knowing her lunch LOL it's nobody's business but I hate that they get the girl involved and bring her name into it because that's bullshit to. I don't know why guys do it I don't like that they do it and I especially don't like it if I know the girl that they're talking about it's one thing to say why don't you open your mouth about themselves but don't start spreading rumors about people that I know or even telling anybody what you did. It's just messed up

Because women are the gatekeepers of sex and they more often than not a pain in the ass about it. I can sorta understand this from a biológical perspective. But really lost women are way to indecisive on who they should and should not sleep with.

So if a guy can pull it off it’s considered an “accomplishment”. She saw him as attractive and masculine enough to drop it. It can boost his self esteem.

Anyway about bragging. Admittedly I have bragged in the past. Not proud of it. It’s immature. But yes it happens.

Guys just do this to brag, that is it. They are not shaming the girl, and the guys they are bragging to don't think the girl is a slut or she should be shamed.

For the most part guys don't do this. Young guys might do this, but even with them it's rare. They might think it's cool to brag about their prowess, but if someone is doing that there is a very high chance they are lying anyway.

I think this only happens when guys are younger and more immature. I think as most guys get older, they stop discussing such things and never discuss intimate details with friends.

Unfortunately yes, I've seen it before in college and in high school (the last one especially). Didn't happen that often but still happened regardless. From what I've seen the few times I did see it, the purpose wasn't really to embarrass/slut shame the girl it was more for the bragging rights and just recognition. Just a way to kind of elevate themselves really.

Nah. Most of the time for the same reason we would brag about getting a raise or promotion or new car or whatnot.

Because it often took skill, talent and work for us to get it.

Probably because it happens so rarely, in most cases, it's like a badge of honour and they WANT other people to know THAT they fucked and WHO they fucked. Girls, on the other hand, are scared to death of being shamed and called a whore if they let it be known that they fucked someone and they are trained from early on not to talk about such things to protect their reputation.
