  • I'm not gonna bullshit you with imaginary numbers, I had an addiction in my final years in high school (aged 16) and when I started going to college I wanted to quit, it took me a little less than 3 months, I stayed without it until darker times came, that was 8 months I guess, I watched for 2-3 months before falling in love, then I quit porn for 10 months, the length of that relationship, it ended at the lockdown period, you can guess what happened next... I haven't quit ever since as I never felt motivated enough to do it, I've never really quit for good yet, probably I'll have to be in a commitment

    • Will you be willing to quit when you’re in a new committed relationship?

    • Absolutely! It will be automatic

  • With any addiction it varies between people, there is not a ‘you will stop in x days or months’

Some people stop in one go and that’s it, others drag it out over months or years.

if it’s bad enough an addiction, then they should seek professional counselling for it.

  • Some cities actually have group therapy for that, kind of like AA for alcoholics. You might look into that if it is causing you problems.

Call the local county mental health department to inquire or use a search engine to find it.

  • As with most addictions. Quitting cold turkey is the most likely avenue to successfully quit. Trying to ease off won't work. You'd just slip back into the habit.

    • Quitting cold turkey is NOT recommended. It's a long process that isn't going to go easily.

  • There is no set limit on how long.

  • First, you would have to agree that it's an addiction or if it's recreation! I've never gone for porn when I have a woman who is ready and willing. If I need a substitute, I still don't need a video, but it it's a long time... it's rec, baby!

  • Months?

No wonder that doesn't work out...

    14 days, cold turkey
    Just stop watching

  • You can't just say a certain number of months or years here. Everybody is different.

  • I think a person could quit in 30 days if they put their minds to it.

  • If there was a reason to about 2 weeks id say. Just slowly do it less and less over theb2 weeks

  • It comes back full force. Can't quit.
