What's the difference between a fetish and an admiration?

I don't get it. My wife says I have a "fetish" for the smaller breasts. But I don't like this word, "fetish". It isn't artistic. I like smaller breasts because I think they are delicate and exquisite in form, even artistically. Like I enjoy drawing female figures with small breasts all dainty and beautiful and their gestures powering the motion through their whole bodies without their breasts becoming a focal point.

When I think, "fetish", I think of some fat guy living in a basement drooling over himself jerking off to some weird shit. I am not that guy! I am cool! I am awesome! I am talking about what I find beautiful. Why would you degrade it by calling it "fetish"?

Or is my English wrong?

  • According to Webster…

    Fetish:
1 : a strong and unusual need or desire for something
He has a fetish for secrecy.
2 : a need or desire for an object, body part, or activity for sexual excitement
    a shoe/foot/leather fetish
3 : an object that is believed to have magical powers
He wore a fetish to ward off evil spirits.

    Admiration:
1 : a feeling of respect and approval
They had/felt great admiration for her courage.
2 : an object of esteem
… his perfect horsemanship … was one of my earliest admirations.
    3 archaic : WONDER

    • Which one do you think I have?

    • Because that's the part that concerns me more than the dictionary if we are to be lifelong friends. I do not want you to think me a pervert. I would want to be respectable in your eyes.

    • It’s really hard to say or place a label on someone else. I’m not a psychologist and there’s more to it than you can explain in a few sentences, I cannot label your attraction for you. Personally I have a panty fetish, it’s a kink, I share it with my partners, and it is what it is. For the record I’m not fat and I don’t have a basement.

  • "Fetish" has a kink factor implication. You have a preference, not a fetish.

    • Well, it is complicated because I'm not sure I have a sexual preference. I just like to draw women with small breasts. Maybe that's why I take offense to the idea that it is "fetish". It seems to imply a sexual preference. I just think certain forms are very beautiful. Like even with a man -- and I am not homosexual -- but there is a certain jaw and face that I think is very beautiful in a man. I tried to draw it in a 10-minute Oekaki speed sketch. It has very little to do with sexuality so maybe that is why I'm offended with people saying I have "fetish". I just have idea of what is very nice to draw:

    • Am I so strange to use words like, "beautiful", "or gorgeous", or "mesmerizing", absent sexual desire? Don't people use such words towards, say, animals? Like that tiger is gorgeous. That doesn't mean you want to fuck a tiger up its ass. You are just saying it is interesting to the eye. I don't understand why so many people can't understand that I don't want to fuck everything I think is beautiful.
