Why is female masturbation such a taboo, in spite of so many men and women loving to watch ladies indulging?

Think of the contradiction between the taboo on one side, and porn and camgirls on the other.

    Questions like this one has a logical fallacy called "Red Herring" aka "begging the question".

    Read carefully: the question actually supplies the answer without proof. And then, use the surface "evidence" as a foundation for another argument, in this case " ... in spite of so many men and women loving to watch ladies indulging?"

    Hence, when a counter argument is given, the Asker can use "it's a taboo" to rebuke Opinions that say otherwise (as in the case of the first Anyo girl's opinion).

    Sorry Asker I can't answer and I hope you ask out of sincerely thus realizing there is no proof that it's a "taboo".

    • OK, I do understand your point. My aim is first of all to learn something by getting people to discuss the subject. Now, bringing proof for every part of the question would lead to something like a full book ;0)

    • A full book? This is ambitious. And to achieve it, you may need one than one question. Raise polls like "is... a taboo?" And you'll get better responses.

  • I don't know if it is. If we're going by porn, guys jerking off to a camera seems more taboo to me than girls doing that which is mainstream, popular. If we're talking about private stuff, maybe that is the case. Well, I just think most women are stupid, personally. I think they just sort of suck like with their mouths on our Ps.

    • Not sure on camera jerking guys are more taboo. Some ignorant people tend to say jerking guys are gay (gay haters maybe), forgetting those guys do it often thinking of a girl... Masturbation has no connection with sexual preferences. Still, remember that it is socially admitted that guys just jerk regularly, at least before having a girlfriend, but when it comes to girls fingering... To be honest, being hetero I also published on a porn site videos of myself jerking off, and till now didn't get negative feedback. Popular with gay men, sure, but some girls liked them videos also.

    • I see things in a simplistic term of this is not popular (taboo) and this is very popular (not taboo). I do not mean negative feedback but more like you can be a celebrity with millions of followers doing this or that even if don't deserve it, like fucking a person or masturbating or just bending over in front of a camera Women are much more powerful here in ways I think straight men, eager to be in charge, don't want to admit. We cannot rival women in sheer physical popularity as I see it.

    • To start with among any of the well known religious communities, which means really a lot of people ; at least half the world population.

    • Only one I have heard mention it is the Catholic Church and even then it was directed at guys and not girls.

    • According Christians of any kind, touching oneself is considered a sin. Muslims think that a woman indulging into masturbation will not desire a man anymore (which is nonsense of course), her reward for having intercourse being to give birth to children. For the Jews, I had no testimony, but probably similar to both Christians and Muslims.

  • Maybe I hang with a different crowd it's not taboo me and my friends at all. I have some friends to come over that are females there's nothing going on romantically between us sexually between us at all. But they will go to the bathroom come back out go get in the bed what's some kind of p*** masturbate while I'm on the phone doing something anything a photo or something I mean it's just like no big deal. But now that you've made me think about it it is kind of weird.

  • Just a matter of opinion probably. I encourage girls I see, sexually, to do it. a lot have told me they don’t like it. Oddly tho, the girls who have cheated on me were the ones who didn’t like porn or masturbation. Maybe that’s why they were so lustful?

    It's not taboo for fuck sake. It hasn't been for a very long time.

    • Well, just start asking around you, and you'll understand. Still, you're right, it's not taboo, not for me, nor obviously for you. It's not me stating the taboo : just only keep in mind the religious communities, and that's a lot of people.

    • I have had enough conversations with different people, including religious people, to know that female masturbation is no more taboo than male masturbation. I just don't see any evidence to support the idea that it is viewed any differently for women than men.

  • Who says it's a taboo? All girls do it.

    • That's the point ! Still, according statistics, 80% girls do it, and 99,99 guys do it, which does not exclude the taboo concerning girls. Mind I would be happy to be wrong about that taboo ;0) Check my other questions on this subject.
