Wouldn't Life Just Be Simpler if Sex didn't Exist?

Parthenogenesis
Parthenogenesis
You know, if every life-form reproduced in some other fashion. Like parthenogenetically (see diagramme above).
I mean, just think about how much simpler life would be. There'd be no rape, no sexual harassment, no 'gender confusion', no 'MeToo' movement, no belief in the purely mythical gender wage gap, no misunderstandings between the two sexes due to the inherent differences between the two sexes, there'd be no prostitution and the risks associated with it, and... well, I could go on and on here.
I say 'Yes'! Let's make this a reality!

  • Life would just find other obstacles simpler and easier is not always better. A conversation is finally starting about how out of control modern feminism is in western society. About biased culture and courts in favor of women. These rabid feminists are a bane and a political tool to destroy the nuclear family and it is succeeding. Men are displaced from their families and women are raising weak men. who are more easily controlled. The government is enriching itself from divorce. Revenues from divorce in the US generate over 50 billion dollars per yr right into the governments. Divorce is incentivized for women , because they will win in court. It’s ironic for women do not like weak men they become bored. Also if a man can’t stand up to her she starts disrespecting him. She tests this with what is known as shit testing to see how a male reacts. The best way to handle this is don’t react walk away and find a woman who doesn’t feel the need to play games. They exist believe it or not.

  • It'd be much simpler if sex wasn't so damn hard to get!!

  • Lord, I don’t know.
Yeah, shitty things happen because the fact that we humans have brains, holes, and poles… But that’s just life I guess. The brain part is more of the issue rather than genitalia and the act of sex.
I don’t think too much about it because in all reality, what can we do about it?

  • For me personally, yeah. Sex is gross

  • There's a reason sexual reproduction is so prolific amongst animals and plants.

Asexual reproducers essentially keep cloning themselves, and any hope of future improvements must come from random mutations. Most of which do nothing, a lot of which are devestating, and a few are usable changes.

Sexual reproduction basically allows you to have a huge swath of genetic diversity for evolution to act on. It allows you to mix and match sets of already-working genes and test those out. It's basically supercharged evolution, which is good for animals, who aren't exactly capable of budding twice a day. For instance, adding the ability to tolerate lactose would have taken millions of years if we reproduced asexually and waited for mutations. But as sexual reproducers, it took only several thousand years.

    • sexual reproduction also means you HAVE to work with others, and cooperation is another huge resource for humans historically. We would not get very far if we were only in competition with each other.

  • Simpler? Yes. Also much more awful. Mammals make societies of incredible complexity, primates lead mammals in that regard, apes lead primates, and guess who leads the apes?

The bulk of it is rooted in the needs created by our reproductive practices. Eliminate those, and there goes the need for cooperation that makes our society possible. Do that, and then there's an evolutionary advantage in lacking it, and it all falls apart from there. Before long, I'm not even bothering to bang something like this together on rocks, because we've lost the common language we used to share.

  • "Just think about how much simpler life would be"

Just think about how stupid we would be. We probably wouldn't have the ability to think about how simple life is. That ability is a higher function that we would not have if genetic diversity was not forced on us.

But yea, life would be simpler. We just wouldn't know it.

  • I think yes it would be easier, but also incredibly boring and we wouldn't be as advanced as we are right now without it. I think sex is also a great motivation drive for people to look for better. Not the only drive ofcourse, but I think it's pretty significant. Men and women trying to inpress eachother by helping and exploring things.
Even though Freud was a weirdo and in many ways I don't agree with him, he had a point somewhere that the importance of sex is underestimated often. Once we stop shaming and repressing it, we can progress and make use of it.
So even though I'm very against sexual assault, metoo etc. I'm also very sex positive in the way that we have to make it more normal and discussable. In that way, we can effectively do things about people's harmful behaviour with it.

  • Sex has caused more heartache and pain than anything else. Sex sells but sex also kills. So in that respect we would have been better off without it. Besides, how many of us ever find true love, the kind of love like this - John 15:13 - "Greater love has no one than this, that a person will lay down his life for his friends." A mother/father would die to save their children.

  • It would, but it would not feel simpler, we would just focus on other issues.

  • Species that don't have sex have a faster extinction rate.

  • It would definitely be simpler, but not necessarily better. Sex is great with the right person. For some, it’s not so enjoyable at all. So it’s different for everyone

  • Where’s the fun in that?

  • well think about how complicated all your friendships were before you started having sex

    • That's just it - they weren't.

  • Sex is a part of natural selection.

    • No, I believe God does the selection.

  • The complication isn't about the act. It's about society it always tries to keep things in check, so if you reproduced without partner there would be even more watching eyes on you. Since now they need to watch you all the time not just when the other gender is around. So you don't do the naughty with yourself when the society hasn't approved it.

  • sex is the easy bit... its love that complicates it all

  • How would we make babies?

    • In a lab?

    • We would have gone extinct long ago.

  • But that's not a part of God's plan. Life would be simpler if satan didn't exist, but then again, we're here because of that fact. As Satan was thrown out of heaven from breaking all of God's commandments, Adam and Eve existed just as God and Jesus are the father, son and holy spirit.

    • And you know all of this how? Where's your evidence?

    • The Kjv Bible is my evidence.

    • However if you're looking into specifics on which verses there in the Kjv, I could post that, which would be a lot, lol.

  • I'm still a virgin, but life would seem kind of boring without sex in my opinion. There would be no emotional bonding or getting closer to the person you love in a more special kind of way. Sex is something special that has the power to bring two individuals closer together.

  • Oh love's storms! That you should be calmed
By loving arms and crossed here and there by the sun
Your thunder and rain has wreaked such havoc
That nothing can be planted in your flooded grounds!

  • Would have to have another means of impregnation but life might be simpler.

    • Would not be any need or reason to have a penis; might even have benefits for the girl.

  • What else would we have to think about. ?

    • Lots of things.

  • life would be so boring without sex

    • It would be peaceful and tranquil :)

    • it can't be peaceful without sex i promise
