Does it makes someone a prostitute if she is accepting a expensive dress in return for sex? Or is it just a normal dating?

Superb Opinion

  • Depends on individuals definitions of a prostitute.

Many here says prostitute accepts money, which in general is true.

For me, anyone who accepts material items in exchange for sex is a prostitute.

Hence a wife can and is a prostitute if she gives sex to her husband in exchange for a diamond necklace, so to speak.

The principle is: sex is being used as a means for material gain.

My broader principle for sex is: the climax of lovemaking. The only acceptable exchange is love and intimacy.

  • Yes. Because you just made it a transaction requirement. What currency you use to trade sex does not matter. If it was a relationship the two would be disconnected. He would give her the dress because he wants to, not because he wants sex from her because of it. And she would give him sex because she wants to independent if she got the dress or not.

  • It shouldn't be in return to relationship. He could've gifted that any time except this

  • It makes you a gold digger. :)

  • If in a relationship it is fairly standard to receive gifts, it is a little weird if it is directly for receiving sex though.

  • All relationships are a trade of some kind. Sometimes it’s implicit, sometimes it’s explicit. When it’s explicit, then and least it’s honest.

  • That's a transactional thing so it for sure makes you one open to been given material stuff, for sex.
The word prostitute has meaning of having a pimp tho so not that.

  • If she is having sex conditionally on financial compensation, than maybe.

  • it's unethical.

  • Yep! That's a ho!!

  • if you are a couple no if not yes.

  • That's not prostitution.

  • Exchanging sex for any item is prostitution

  • it in you head not ours

  • No it don't shows you good at what you do

  • I guess it depends

  • I don't date anyone who uses sex in such a way.

  • yeah

  • prostitution? maybe but don't men give things to women for sex anyway? Dinner, movies or whatever? So unless it is cash specifically for sex, I don't think so.

  • Payment in kind is still payment. It's prostitution, albeit in a limited and specific way.

  • Kind of. But not a professional

  • No, even girlfriend or wife can demand expensive items for use, Prostitutes are professional women to get money for sex
