No, that isn't it.

They send dick pics because they are projecting their own desires onto the girl. See, the vast majority of guys would LOVE to have you send him nudes, and he'd be turned on by them, so some guys assume that women would feel the same way about receiving a nude from a guy. Now, we both know that is usually not the case, especially coming from a stranger, but these kinds of guys simply don't bother to think it through.

Further complicating the problem is that a small but vocal minority of women DO like receiving dick pics, even from strangers. Some guys will send those pics to every woman they talk to for exactly the same reason they swipe Right on every girl on Tinder - they're simply casting a wide net, knowing that most of what they catch isn't what they want, but hoping that at least ONE of the fish in their net is the kind they are looking for - and that's all that matters. They don't care if they offend 99 girls as long as 1 of them gets turned on or responds positively.

Finally, some guys - particularly guys with big dicks - know that that's the main thing they have going for them (sometimes the only thing!), but that it's enough to get a certain percentage of women to change her initial opinion of him, in the same way that some girls may not like a guy at all UNTIL she learns that he's worth $10M, or until she finds out that he's a director or concert promoter or otherwise someone with status and access - and then the guy is suddenly worth a second look.

They don't care if it doesn't work on most women - they just know it DOES work on a few, and the "few" is good enough for them.

'Mornin', "Brains"! You may be correct in that, but as a guy that has sent "penis pictures" (both, solicited and unsolicited pictures 🤷‍♂️😁) I know it depends on the angle the picture was taken from as to how much it exaggerates both length and girth.

In my early 20's I took some pictures with my Logitech camera while at my computer, pictures taken from the front and (only one taken from the side) The ones taken from the front view DO make it look longer, but do not seem to exaggerate the girth.

In line with that, and VERY FUNNY, was a cartoonist who, unfortunately does not draw any more. (I think he got rich selling desk-top small, calendars with his cartoon drawings)
He drew a cartoon of a motorist, looking at his side-rear-view mirror, and there was a HUGE eyeball showing in the mirror, with the statement on the mirror saying, "Objects may be CLOSER than they appear"!
This is the opposite of saying "Objects may be SMALLER than they appear. 😁😁😁

I couldn't tell you why they do it. It seems pretty crazy to me. I can safely say there is not and never will be a photo of that part of me. I think its odd they obviously don't know much about females if they are doing that mess. I happen to know from long experience that your dick is not the first thing a woman wants to know about you. I have been asked for those online , but I tell them there is only two ways to see that 1) be in the medical profession , or 2) convince me you want it used on you , and lets make a date for the reveal , and ensuing action. That's it. I can only imagine a cluster of females giggling and comparing dick pic collections in the ladies room or locker room for that matter. I mean have they not thought about the blackmail that can occur from that behavior? that's giving some one a lot of power over you. it doesn't seem to be a good idea , and haven't they made that illegal in the United States?
