Dr boyfriend won't role play with his lab coat?

In regards to my most recent post.
He said he doesn't want to wear his lab coat, he doesn't want to role play as something that he is everyday.

He doesn't even wear his lab coat to work, ever. Like never. It's in the back of his closet. I told him he didn't have to say anything a doctor would, I just want to see him in his slacks, button down and lab coat.

He doesn't mind the slacks and stuff but he does the lab coat? Why? I don't get it.

He spends his days as a doctor and the coat is the one distinctly "doctor" part of his outfit. Being a doctor isn't a fun fantasy for him like it is for you. He gets to think about whatever horrifying medical shit he saw that day while you get to enjoy yourself.

Lol I assumed that because of the wording you chose. We have a particular word for eye doctors; they are called Optometrists. When people say "doctor," they're usually referring to a surgeon or someone else who works in a hospital. My point remains the same; he spends all day thinking about work, he doesn't want to come home and roleplay his real life.

The lab coat is SYMBOLIC. It's a symbol of being a medical professional. He spends all day being a medical professional.

Think of it this way, as a doctor, you are there to help save a life, make the person as comfortable as possible and get to the bottom of making the patient feel better. Now if he mixes the roles, imagine what may happen mentally when you combine them. Work, sex. Not a good combo.
