(I'm 100% straight, was Christian now agnostic liberal. Hence my definition is limited by these "upbringing".)
1) virgin = a person who does not have PIV sex or foreplay. Intimacy limited to kissing, holding hands and non-sensual, friendly hugs only.
2) experienced virgin = a person who haf seen at least one member of the opposite gender fully naked before, limited to touch and kiss all parts of the body except the "private parts" like vagina / penis, anus, buttocks, boobs and clitoris.
3) technical virgin = (2) now engage in blow job, fingering, PIA, etc except PIV.
Hence, until here, the person is still "a virgin"; and better still religiously, she bleeds on her wedding night.
Finally once a penis penetrates her vagina, she is no more a virgin.
PS: no discrimination, the above doesn't include LGBT because I am 100% no part of it.
PPS: using of toys to masturbate does not fall into category 2 or 3.
But using toys to penetrate the anus or vagina (naked bodies) places the person into category 3: technical virgin.1 1 0 0It’s a social construct, it’s whatever you decide it is.

It changes between cultures, with LGBT, changes over time.
it is a label used to shame people, either for losing or for having.
It is also an invisible ‘gift’ that relies 100% on trust and honesty.
What do two lesbians decide, what about two gat guys, a girl or guy that’s been subjected to rape / abuse consider virginity to be, with the latter they may decide they never lost it.2 2 0 1

The general definition of virginity is related to something fresh and new. For example, the “virgin snow.” Sexually, virginity traditionally and historically referred to sexual intercourse — the insertion of a man’s penis into a woman’s vagina. That definition has become inapplicable and somewhat archaic these days but many still hold true to it. Obviously it can work for heterosexual couples only. For gay/lesbian (and various other) relationships, that definition can’t be applied. I believe that the right definition is the sexual act you believe expresses the highest degree of intimacy between you and your partner. For me personally, that means PIV since it is penetrative, sexually satisfying, incredibly intimate, and carries the potential (however wanted or unwanted) to create life that combines the genetic codes of those two people. I had anal sex a long time before vaginal, but not because I believed it preserved my virginity. Nevertheless I believe I lost my virginity when I first had vaginal sex. So that’s my definition.

@Graceful05 glad there are other girls who considered anal before PIV
I want to note, penis in vagina consensually only. If one of you didn't consent, that would not take your virginity away if it was forced.
The other stuff, would not take virginity away but one cannot say they've never had sexual relations by doing it. It would count for all that.0 4 0 1ok so are gay/lesbian people virgins if they never have sex with the opposite sex?
I'd say technically they are, virgins. Not a bad thing, but that doesn't mean they have no sexual experience either. I don't know why people focus on the whole virgin concept, it is just silly... who cares.
i also say who cares, but for many people virginity is still valued. i think by closely examining what it means we can clearly see how the lines blur a bit. hence in my opinion virginity is kinda meaningless in a way.

17 21I would define it as vaginal penetration but Webster's more modern definition sees penetration of any opening as a loss...
Definition of sexual intercourse
1 : heterosexual intercourse involving penetration of the vagina by the penis : coitus
2 : intercourse (such as anal or oral intercourse) that does not involve penetration of the vagina by the penis
No matter for me, that horse got out of that barn a very long time ago... lol0 1 0 0I mean the way I see it, oral sex is sex. If we're exclusive and you give a guy a BJ, the "it's not sex" excuse isn't exactly going to work. A kiss? Maybe. But if it involves the genitals, it's sex in my book.
But like, I'm not going to judge someone on their virginity. Hell if I had more opportunities in college, it would have been a straight orgy for me. Grades be damned. And what am I going to do, judge you for having a libido? Yeah, nothing says "you should have sex with me" like "you shouldn't want sex". Sound logic there.0 1 0 0Virginity could mean a lot of things, depending. Lesbians consider themselves virgins until they have sex. I mean I was raped at 13, but the first time I had sex, I was 16. At the time I believed my uncle took my virginity, but now I realize that virginity can only be given away, not stolen! All he did was break my hymen, and horse riding can do that, as can sliding into 2nd in a softball game.

I think virginity is lost when you use your body to pleasure another person. giving your self to some one to touch you and use you in your most private of places fundamentally changes how you think about yourself. I think that is when that innocence of virginity is lost.
0 4 0 0so if they just perform oral and nothing else that qualifies as losing your virginity to you?
I think so yes.
Penis in vagina moving until completion.
0 3 0 2Fuckin without finishing doesn't count? Damn, I was still a virgin my 2nd time then 😂
I would pick A and I believe that has always been the standard
0 1 0 1I consider virginity to be when a woman’s hymen is still in tact because a penis has not broken it, or vice versa - when a man has not put his penis into a vagina and climaxed from it. But then comes the argument of what about gay virginity? Gay virginity I would say is when you haven’t given anal/received anal. Lesbian virginity is the same as straight virginity in my eyes - as most lesbians I know use strap ons or toys.
There’s also the argument of what if a woman’s hymen breaks while she’s riding a bike or other non sexual physical activity? Is she still a virgin? I say yes, although her hymen is broken, it was not broken by something being inside of her in a sexual manner.0 2 0 0So you're saying a bicycle has a better chance of having sex than myself?
I mean Hymen's don't break anyway... And there is no way to tell someone has had sex due to hymen been stretched or not so dunno how one would measure that for virginity lol
I would say it's anyone who never had penetrative sex if they're straight. If they're gay or lesbian I have no idea what that means.
0 1 0 0The definition can vary, depending on the context, and there certainly are a different number of opinions on what constitutes virginity. Tell me why virginity is important and then perhaps I can define it.
If you want a "virgin" to become your bride so that you can teach her everything she knows about sex, then virgin means she has had no prior sexual experience, whether it was foreplay, oral, anal, or PIV. If virgin means "will she bleed on her wedding night," then it means no previous PIV sex, but there will be a fair number of girls with no prior sexual experience who will not bleed on their wedding night.
For me, virgin means sexual innocence and naivete, such as you would see with most 8-9 year old children. That innocence can continue as a child gets older and acquires some sexual knowledge, but it evaporates as soon as a child starts becoming involved with sexual behavior of any sort.0 1 0 0I use the most common definition of virginity ending with accepting a penis into vagina. However, there are many more ways of being sexually active across the diversity of relationships so we should not be bound by just the one definition. It is about context.
0 1 0 0It depends who we are talking about. One could also argue there’s various types of virginity (butt virgin, etc).
Most people mean penis in vagina sex but if it’s a lesbian or gay couple then other forms of sex would count too.
Overall it’s kind of hard to define when you add the quirks all together.1 1 0 0Penis in vagina. Trust me I did anal before losing my virginity and it definitely didn't count lol
1 3 0 2mmmm
PIV is was counts the most, doing other things but not PIV makes you a technical virgin.
https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/TechnicalVirgin0 1 0 1I mean PIV is what counts the most.
So gays/lesbians are still virgins?
Yea gold star lesbians are technical virgins.

0 2 0 0I just don't define it... it's kind of pointless when everyone else has so many different opinions to it all

thats how i define virginity.1 3 0 0Lol sit the fuck down @joker_
MHO
Penis inside the vagina. Blowjobs and handjobs are not sex.
0 2 0 0what about anal only?
I don't count that as sex. I realized some people do.
ok so are gay/lesbian people virgins if they never have sex with the opposite sex?
Penetration to vagina. And if gay well that just means whatever max form they can get close to that counts like anal. Since of a guy on guy don't have a vagina so basically there butt counts.
0 1 0 1No intercourse
0 1 0 0I can definitely say anal rape doesn't count.
0 1 0 0lol ok but when if its consensual anal sex?
I guess in the instance of gay people it would be virginity snatching. For straight people, I don't think so. Everyone views virginity differently.
i dunno i just feel like its cheating lol. cause i know of catholic couples who only engage in anal sex because they feel virginity is strictly penis in vagina only. i just think the lines blur a bit when you really scrutinize it all. and its why i feel its not really that important anymore to really fixate on virginity.
